P. S. Sorry, I reflexively posted this in my panicked desperation, but I don't mean to hijack the thread like a bot. I think I'm just amped up for the protest today.
Y'all, we're eagerly waiting for the president to die. Please can we not pin the hopes of this country on the eventual deaths of 25 to 35-year-olds? Can we do something a little more proactive please?
Edit: To be clear, I'm not wishing for them to survive. I just think we need a better plan.
I'm a middle school ESL teacher in the United States, and today I was talking with my supervisor about what the average US score would be on the test that my kids have to take every year. The conclusion was definitely that the majority of the United States would not pass the test to be deemed proficient in English.
We're working our way up to it. What you're talking about is a general strike and it takes a lot of organizing. Sign a strike card! http://www.generalstrikeus.com/
Peanut butter toast and a cup of coffee, usually. Y'all international types really do need to try crunchy peanut butter. Don't give me no skippy bullshit. It's amazing stuff.
It's weird how many major news briefs use the same language though, isn't it? I'm not sure where they're getting it, but NPR uses exactly the same lingo.
I've seen the wiki on US protests by size. Now I need one on protest themes: naked bike ride, inflatable animals, frogs.
