  • I am surprised they brand themselves "Populistes" which in French language has a very negative meaning. It literally means you say whatever people want to hear to get elected without following through on your promises. At least in a sense, they are honest about it...

  • I wouldn't willingly go swim with jellyfish for whatever reason. Got sting as a teenager and the burn marks stayed printed onto my skin for well over a year.

  • Back in 1993 Amtrak ran trial runs with European high-speed trains, Sweden's X2000 and Germany's ICE, here is a well made documentary about the event.

  • My experience with ICE isn't great. It has reliability issues, I got stuck several times because of technical issues, it happened to me 3 or 4 times they had to literally reboot the train 🤣. Also, the comfort is not great, I have a soar butt after 1 hour sitting there. The French TGV is much better, or at least I have experienced a much lower failure rate (with the train itself, don't get me started on SNCF...)

  • I used it for 9 years. When I finally changed it, everyone was already using smartphones for a while. I could navigate the menu and text entirely by touch, which was practical during classes :)
