Typically when code changes existing permits are grandfathered in, they don't pull outstanding permits and make them comply with new code. For something as relatively minor as residential solar you should really only need a few months notice at most I would think. Like either the plans are drafted and ready for submission soon or you're still in the planning phase and just add panels.
You know, right before lockdown I was hanging out with a friend and I said something to the effect of 'eh, I do feel like people are overreacting a bit but at least this should normalize mask wearing when you're sick like in parts of Asia.'
Right now I have a very similar feeling hunch of 'at least this should kill the myth that republican presidents are better for the economy' and I can't wait for the american people to once again show me just how stupid they are.
Unless it's a higher rate than human drivers per mile or hours driven I do not care. Article doesn't have those stats so it's clickbait as far as I'm concerned
It's bitcoin, the only thing it's disrupting is the pyramid scheme space. It's too volatile, too expensive(transaction fees), and too slow to be a useful currency. There is no reason for the government to buy in to a speculation bubble.
I can't ask them to delete my data because I forgot the fake birthday I used for the fake name and they keep asking for it for "security". Alas. If in 5-10 years I'm living in a country that allows genetic discrimination either openly or through lack of enforcement I feel like I have bigger problems to worry about.
I'm more annoyed that forgetting that date also means I can't download my data so I can't use 3rd party analysis tools.
I keep clicking on the profile link when I see an astonishingly stupid take expecting it to be someone from the most recent reddit migration wave and I can't believe how often I'm wrong. How haven't we bullied the racist dipshits off the platform even after a year+
Every now and then a little devil on my shoulder says "you should set up a cluster computer that serves a secondary function as a smart space heater" and it's gonna be really hard to ignore if the deals are good enough.
Or the person calculating their withholding was. But if you're paycheck to paycheck then that paycheck amount is all that really matters. Cool, I get a bigger refund eventually, but I'm now choosing between eating, walking 2 hours to work to save gas, or letting a bill go unpaid.
I certainly remember when lenovo pushed a keyboard firmware update so bad that it physically damaged a part on thousands of legion laptops and then refused to own up to it. Fuckers. Never again.
*ok I half remembered, I don't actually know that a part was physically damaged but the only permanent fix involves soldering so close enough
I had to ditch ddg when they started injecting my vpn's geoip as a search term in almost every search. It was to the point where I could literally be including an actual city and state as a search term and I would mostly get results for the vpn's location. Naturally there is no option to disable this behavior.
Startpage is nice though doing the same thing now, fuck.
I work at the Target warehouse that supplies the northwest, should be interesting to see if this actually noticeably changes our daily product volume. Gonna hazard a guess at no probably not. I should have some idea within 24 hours thanks to just in time logistics but seasonal product could fuzz the numbers a bit.
Works for me though, I'm mostly here for the tuition benefit and I don't lose benefits eligibility unless I dip below 20/hr/week average which I can't imagine happening.
Update: Maybe, actually. Today was the lowest volume so far this week but we're just sorta back to the volume we were running last week. We'll see if it sticks.
Update 2: lol, today's volume is even higher than last week. It's just volatile right now I guess, no discernible impact.
