  • LibRedirect Firefox addon is good to automatically redirect various websites, the main one I use it fkr being reddit. Redlib etc servers aren't reliable, but it'll ping the different ones and find which is working well.

  • There's the "right to choose" in England, which allows you to pick a private provider that the NHS will pay for. Wait lists are not short, and places often pause referrals, but wait times are months not years. You need your GP to do the referral and some don't want to but they have to. Then there's a bunch of problems with the shared care agreements not being accepted too.

It's a lot to look into but it might get you there sooner. Ideologically I hate this as it is a waste of NHS money but for those that need the care in a timely manner it can be the only option. It is frustrating that there hasn't been enough investment in the NHS.

  • The Origin Effects compressors are UK-based (not EU but not US) and very well liked. Where are you based? There may be smaller builders near you that cover your needs.

  • Great for turning off a device or several devices without having to unplug (e.g. if the sockets are behind a bookcase, this is much more convenient). Not a super common need but when it saves moving furniture it helps. Given that UK switches are tougher to plug in and unplug than most (due to safety features), I prefer using a switch. Also, the switches are cheap and give more options, so may as well!

I rely on one for a light where the switch broke and wasn't easily replaceable, so being able to fall back on the mains switch meant I can keep using the light.

  • At least with Good Omens you can focus on Terry. This is grim.

  • Mull is fine if you use the divestos repo directly, but the f-droid version is behind

  • Ah, thanks for the answer, I'd missed this on the GH page. Unfortunately, that's not what I'm after as I know I will end up with a complete mess of unusable notes or not use it at all if there are any stages of choosing a note type.

Ideally, I want version controlled, editable, searchable, taggable paper I don't have to file away, which I can also type on and use other digital tools with (e.g for things like diagrams, spreadsheets). I haven't seen anything particularly close to what I'm after yet but I'm hopeful that it'll come eventually.

  • Is handwriting & drawing support planned?

  • I think that comment has two readings:

    1. The commenter potentially missed the point of the post a bit and saying good parenting helps because it means they get diagnosed sooner
    2. The commenter is saying that the abusive behaviours listed in the post count as "good parenting"

I can see why the second might get reported.

  • The stars and planets, yes, but there is a lot of very diffuse gas that does collide

  • My personal idea/hope is that there is some other dimension of spacetime over which the big bang had directionality, emitting matter and antimatter across different poles, and that's why. That'd also mean there's an anti-universe, which is why I like the idea.

In terms of the galaxies, I believe there's enough of an observable difference that I think we would be able to detect antimatter clusters, or similar, based on emission lines but I'm not 100% on that. Huge annihilation events from colliding galaxies and clusters would have massive energy signatures unlike anything else but the frequency of this would determine how likely it would be to see the evidence.

  • Oops responded to the wrong comment

  • That's what we genuinely don't know. Based on the standard model, it should be in equal parts.

  • I tried PCAPdroid recently and that seemed good

  • Sounds like you were engaging in whataboutism and that was the problem

  • The actual article says that the new thing is that it allows consumers to revoke access to information after the fact.

  • As someone who just switched to an Xperia as it's one of the few phones that still has a headphone jack, NFC, and microSD slot, this sucks. The software support is the biggest problem IMO because the rest is great.
