  • I always use railways to illustrate this example. Every developed country in the world has them. They are indispensable, cities would grind to a halt without mass commuter transportation. Yet, they are also notoriously expensive. They just don't pay their way. People couldn't afford the ride. But because they are an essential service, governments swallow the costs.

That's the primary point of government. Not to wage war across the world, but to provide essential services to the people that private industry can't do at an affordable price.

  • This. I hate the stuff. Can't sleep and get a killer case of restless legs.

I am prone to respiratory complaints, it's my weakness. However, I'd rather have that misery than pseudoephedrine.

  • Damn, this always happens to me when I don't put me specs on?

  • Yes, the lesson is personal security -not trying to be a cunt to the health consumer.

  • If they catch him jury selection will be a tough gig for the State.

  • Maybe Bruce Wayne reversed his policy on forearms?

  • Good news. The board relented on the thoughts, but they were pretty firm on denying the prayers.

  • He, 'something, something' and 'found out'.

  • Trump's entire stchick is gaming every system to manipulate things in his favour. The Dems always take the higher ground and always get pounded. Every single time - Gore in 2000, particularly.

If Biden 'pardons' his son to ameliorate Hunter's political persecution, then it's a step in the right direction to push back. Tame as it is, the Dems better learn to fight fire with napalm before all is lost.

  • Wadya mean 'could'?

  • TIL that Twitter is still around in some form. Why do people bother?

  • I don't think that he took a hit on Twitter at all. He deliberately destroyed it to kill a very effective voice of independent news and commentary. 30 billion was chump change for that. Look at Twitter now, it's a hot mess of garbage. Mission accomplished and he's still getting three squares a day and shooting bullshit and spy satellites into space.

  • What alarms? What fucking alarms?

An alarm that warns of exactly nothing? Nothing is ever going to happen to him or his evil goons. Just get used to the idea that Trump will do whatever he wants to do and nothing can restrain him.

Getting sick of these stories that act like Trump just might do something out of the ordinary. He's a cancer on the body politic and nothing he will do should be a shock. He's already told us what he's going to do, and if you think that it might be alarming at this point, then you haven't been paying attention.

  • It's entirely possible that the richest man in the world can fuck around and still not find out.

  • The ways things are trending he may, quite inadvertently, save their lives in doing so. This is a sad epoch we are living in.

  • What about the rest who were too dumb to vote at all and got Trump as a free gift?

  • Oh no's. A stranger on the internet doesn't respect another stranger. How will I be able to cope?

    Anyway...
