  • I don't even know why there's a debate over whether the Blackwater Oyster Kulak is deserving of support.

  • When I first read the headline, I thought the Chinese navy was loading CPC members into catapults and firing them at enemy ships.

  • The luddites were dead fucking wrong. Instead of seizing the means of production, they thought smashing them would solve their woes. It doesn't matter that the luddites were skilled machine operators with a rudimentary form of class consciousness; their understanding of the issue was idealist and therefore opposed to Marxism. Luddism is liberalism.

  • Back in 2023 already China used an AI (they didn’t say what type exactly) to blueprint the electrical cabling on a new ship model, and it did it with 100% accuracy.

Do you have a link to the story? I ask because AI is a broad umbrella that many different technologies fall under, so it isn't necessarily synonymous with generative AI/machine learning (even if that's how the term has been used the past few years). Hell, machine learning isn't even synonymous with neural networks.

Circling back to the Chinese ship, one type of AI I could plausibly see being used is a solver for a constraint satisfaction problem. The techniques I had to learn for these in college don't even involve machine learning, let alone generative AI.

  • I played the demo (though not nearly as much as OP) and it's not an RTS. It's turn-based.

  • Why appeal to the founding fathers?

They're the deities of the amerikkkan civic blood cult.

  • The "socialism for the rich" talking point and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

  • The average cracker often can tell the difference, they're just also racist against Indians. It really fucking irks me how often I hear people say the reason US software is bad is due to Indian H1Bs (and not, you know, all the VC nonsense and hordes of crackers working on the software) and jokes about "designated shitting streets".

  • Damn, those comments are from way back in 2017.

  • My habit of distrusting political short form video makers who talk to the camera like the audience are unruly children is vindicated.

  • I feel like meeting other people like that would be good. I'm thinking of looking for groups that aren't explicitly related to revolutionary politics (like hobby or interest groups or something) to see if I can get more grounding in who I am before taking on more responsibility.

  • Biblically accurate pronouns.

  • I've been going to therapy for a few years now. The first year or so helped curb my more self-harming tendencies, but I stopped making progress towards fixing the underlying issues after awhile. I've started seeing a new therapist recently though and she seems much more familiar with neurodiversity. Fingers crossed her treatment modality works better for me. I've also been to a shrink and the antidepressents (and, at one point, antipsychotics) I was on took the edge off a bit, but felt like trying to repair the second floor on a building with a broken foundation.

It's good to know I'm not the only one to feel like an imposter communist though. The more I think about it, the more I think I'm overestimating my ability and underestimating my need. Like you said, I'm gonna have to rediscover myself.

  • Yeah, they totally ran protestors over with tanks. You can even see it in the full tank man video.

Oh, huh, that's weird. He didn't get run over. It even seems like the tanks are trying to avoid him. Maybe the perfidious chicoms are the ones who are telling the truth and it's our free and fair liberal press who are lying 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔.

  • The US might even soon have The Copium Wars.

  • I've never heard of that and have been working as a professional code monkey for over 7 years at this point.

  • Dort Owl on their way to become the villain from the Sly Cooper games.

  • Before expanding the thumbnail I thought Kim just got really into cup stacking.
