  • That’s what I’ve read as well. The real kicker is Rust runs better for me on Linux. I’m pretty sure Facepunch heavily funded EAC’s development too. Garry’s kind of a bitter cunt about playing on Linux for whatever reason.

  • I am conflicted about this one. I really miss playing Rust (uses EAC).. wish there was a way to toggle the kernel level anticheat when I wanted to play.

  • Definitely was in the rural, redneck school I went to.

  • The list is also missing the Red Cell theory, which could be a sort of penetration test contracted by the US government. I think that’s distinctly different than a psy-op or government conspiracy. Penetration testing of military bases and other core infrastructure makes complete sense combined with the hysteria theory, where now people are reporting normal flight traffic out of paranoia.

  • I was in my early 20’s at the time during the Great Recession. Honestly was afraid there were no options for me if I left that job.

  • I didn’t know Marshall, however I worked for one of the engineering departments at NCSU, and I will state it was the most toxic, hostile work environment I’ve ever been part of. Direct colleagues were mostly great despite being underpaid and overworked.

The professors there have a culture where they feel and act like they are celebrities. I knew of three instances where professors had affairs with their students, divorced their spouses, married said students, and repeated the process over again a few years later. All “distinguished” professors too. Even though I was a sysadmin, one assigned me to transcribe a recording of some lecture he was giving while clearly in a bathtub having something sexual done to him just as a power trip. I reported it, nothing was done, and I received a poor performance evaluation that year despite very good ones years prior. Absolute horrible place to work.

  • Sow True Seed has been my go to for years. Lots of cool, new and old heirlooms to try. If ordering something transplants/bulbs/slips you need to do it months ahead of time, but their seeds are pretty much available all year.

  • Correct

  • I’m not sure how accurate early voter demographics correlate to voting patterns anymore. I work for a municipality, and my office has a clear view of the voting lines. They were PACKED for the first week of early voting. They have been empty today. Like, people are still coming in to vote, but it’s onesie-twosies, not the 50+ person lines it was. Allegedly we had over 50% of our eligible voters cast their ballots during early voting. And my area is pretty solidly red. I’m having trouble making any sort of prediction based on it.

  • I’ve had Aerogardens for years. I don’t think any of mine are IoT devices. I’ve grown a ton of lettuce, basil varieties, peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, etc.. A bit pricey up front if you don’t buy on sale, but I feel I got way more produce out of them than expected.

  • Run.

  • I knew it was this guy just from the headlines. He’s tricked the media in the past with the fake beach pictures after hurricanes/nor’easterns.. also flooded the market around here with fake sunsets and dolphins, etc. and has really hurt the livelihood of some local artists because a lot of people can’t tell they are fakes. He’s another provoquer and seeing this make the news will inspire him to keep making more fakes.

  • I used to work for a major research university and they switched to Kaspersky. It baffled me that any foreign AV was permitted, let alone one made in a hostile country.

  • About $3.50

  • No, but they are a nice addition if you like them with the added benefit of more fiber, oils, and minerals. They do help thicken everything up, so if you aren’t going to add them maybe use less milk unless you like it soupy.

  • I normally make a few portions at once since imo they have better texture anyway if you give them two+ days to absorb moisture. I try to make another portion every day, but since I have a few in the fridge it gives me breathing room if I’m feeling lazy any particular day.

  • Here’s my unsolicited recipe for overnight oats, you sweet, fiber-deficient lemmies:

1/4 cup steel cut oats, 1 Tbsp chia seeds, a glob of honey, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 3/4 cup of milk, then in the morning add 1/4 cup crushed walnuts and a ton of blueberries.

  • I asked GPT 3.5, Claude 3, Llama 3, and Mixtrial and they all said “eleven eleven.” No fun.
