How did they measure “penile circumference” over time? Is there a guy standing next to them with a tape measure?

5·6 days agoIt’s missing the fact that the nix store can be huge, even if garbage collected regularly. This prevents me from using nix on my Ubuntu laptop with limited HDD space.

2·7 days agoBut then I’d have to combine that with existing services myself. NixOS ensures that there is only one postgres running for example, such that not every service starts its own postgres instance.
For immich, for example the following is enough for a most basic configuration:
services.immich.enable = true; services.immich.port = 2283;
This looks amazing, and I will try it out once it has reasonable NixOS support.
I especially like the immich integration.
Does it increase battery consumption of the phone a lot?

122·9 days agoIn the example they show DLSS doubles the frame rate from about 60 to about 120. Not bad. Of course, the inserted frames are all fake, but if they look good to the eye, that’s great!
When I was starting to use Linux in the late 2010s, I was quite confused by how all the init stuff worked. Now that I use NixOS and systemd, I’m things have become really easy. I could write a simple backup system by chaining a few services together without problems.
