just me

  • this burrito reminds me of Appa

  • nowhere in the post did they apply for the misery olympics, don't draft them in by force. people can have small problems and complain about them in a lighthearted way

  • o.o well, each to their own i guess. i used to have periods and if anyone as much as thought of touching me i'd recoil in disgust (the feeling was probably made worse by intense dysphoria tho)

  • i am aware, i used to have those. the technicality of what's actually happening doesn't change the discomfort of feeling and looking like an orifice of yours is bleeding

  • would you like to get fucked in an orifice that is currently bleeding?

  • there's 11 pages of results if you search "gun" through Modrinth, you're absolutely correct

the marketplace is "curated" mods, if the guy wants to make paid mods that go against the "curation" he's gotta make a patreon or something, and handle his own marketing for it

  • how do i know how much plastic is in my blood?

  • meh, maybe one AAA game a year is worth buying, old or indie games are way better

  • ratings are not objective, no matter how hard we try we are not creatures of objectivity. when it comes to rating other people most of us want to be nice

  • this system can skew the average towards negative

say someone found a hair in their soup but otherwise the experience was amazing - even if they're peak karen they'd still probably give something like 3 stars, but if faced with a binary choice they'd probably pick the negative option

unless you mean up/down vote per each quality like atmosphere, food, hygine, service etc then that'd preserve the nuance imo

  • yeah i get that this perspective can be helpful in specific contexts, what annoys me is that it's presented as universal, "no such thing as fish". i would appreciate added clarity as to the point of view of the speaker, so such statements don't come off as general words everyone should just accept as truth

  • that's a dumb way to categorise things, like it's an attempt to create a categorisation system that works against how we use language. it's less "either everything is a fish or nothing is a fish" and more "we decided to take the meaningful word "fish" and devoid it of meaning for the purpose of making our graphs make sense", what about the definitions of the word "fish" that aren't based entirely on one specific point of view of a subgroup of scientist?

  • and linguists will be first to tell you that languages are living, fluid, and made up for the purpose of communication

and yet people started getting mad at the mere concept of pronouns

  • yeah i'm not the biggest fan of the seasons made by americans, they feel strangely hollow to me most of the time. the first two seasons have all my favourite episodes, and by favourite i mean the ones that made me weep for the future

  • some episodes of Black Mirror struck terror into my heart like no other. They were grim warmings for the possible future masquerading as fiction, as grim warnings often do. Though what the show could not forsee was how fast it would come true. And it could not forsee how wide a scale would be affected, those were singular stories from those worlds, the effect of the technology showcased on the lives of a few, a pinhole view into the dystopia

if you haven't already, watch the episode Be Right Back. you better start believing in sci-fi dystopias, we're in one

  • hi hello it's me, part of the horde, a polish person has been mentioned so we need to do the ritual:

    POLSKA MOUNTAIN RAAAAA 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🦅🔥

(also folks, don't forget to include her Polish surname there as well! It's Maria Skłodowska-Curie. when she was alive Poland wasn't recognised as a nation, it wasn't even on the maps for most of her life, so her choice to keep her polish name after marriage is a deliberate action to honour her Polish heritage and keep the national spirit of Poland strong despite there being no official country Poles could call home at the time)

  • well yeah now i know that, the maddening part is that with any other platform what i tried doing at first wouldn't be an issue, log in, do the thing, log out, never think of it again. but nooooo, microsoft has to be special
