  • One is blackened rare tuna, cilantro-lime rice, korean BBQ sauce, special tang sauce, asian slaw, cilantro, scallions, and sesame seeds.

The other is tuna poke, cucumber, jalapeño-scallion cream cheese, cilantro-lime rice. diced avocado, special tang sauce, crispy onions, sesame seeds, and crispy nori.

  • It's not painted as a casing, more like an exceptionally extended body. It rather looks like a tracer projectile body. I suspect somebody searched for 5.56mm projectile references and picked the tracer at random.

The crimp mark is quite far up though, rather than on the major diameter.

  • Basically every episode of Columbo. The mystery isn't the crime, but how he's going to solve it.

  • The early use of this reaction gif was a little too new wave for my taste. But when wojacks started getting so many variations, I think it really came into its own, commercially and artistically. The whole reaction has a clear, crisp pixelation, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the gif a big boost. It's been compared to frogposting, but I think Buzzposting has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

  • Just go for it and what happens happens.

  • Good. Messy, but that's normal with a banh mi. The presentation and the flavor was more simple and felt more authentic than a lot of banh mis served in popular "fusion" restaurants where they all try to Guy Fieri up the flavor in some way.

  • For me, it's the Flying Dutchman Animal Style. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra chopped chilis and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for an extra slice of cheese and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly In-N-Out worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three slices. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local In-N-Out restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large milkshake, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in milkshake, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

  • In my experience, the people who told me high school was the best time had very boring adult lives.

I imagine the people who said this probably did have a fantastic time in high school. Probably to the point they ended up socially aimless afterward.

Perhaps I'm just over imagining, but I picture them reminiscing about scoring two touchdowns in a single high school game. The kind of people who post about high school memories on Facebook.

  • My years in middle and high school were rough for a lot of reasons. The last thing I needed were adults telling me "these are the best days of your life!". That was the most demoralizing thing I could have imagined back then.

Once I was 18 and in control of my life, things got so much better. There have been different chapters, but they've all been good or at least memorable in their own way.

What I would (and have) told kids who are clearly having a rough time is that things can and will get better. When you're a kid, and bad situations that are entirely out of your control to change are happening, life can be miserable. Eventually you get some agency, and that goes a long way. Sometimes as an adult, things come and happen too, but telling a kid who is currently miserable to look forward to something better is a lot more helpful. Barring some outside tragedy, life as an adult is much less grinding than being a kid shaped cog.

  • Fluff

  • I recently had a cashier call another one over for a purchase issue of mine and referred to me as a "guest". It felt weird. I was not a guest. I was trying to exchange money for goods and services and leave.

I don't know what corporate big brain came up with the guest terminology, but it feels weird from every angle.

  • There is always going to be a divide between people who have done restaurant closings and those that haven't. Some people who haven't done it will not see any issue with showing up 10 minutes to closing and ordering everything on the menu. You can't change their minds.

The last time I was traveling and absolutely had no choice but to go into a Chiplote 20 minutes to closing (it was the only place for miles still open), I made sure to be flexible about only asking for things that hadn't been put away already. I ended up getting what seemed like quad portions and free chips. Be nice to servers and they are nice to you.

  • I believe the term is "melted".

  • What an unfortunate opinion.

  • I didn't take as a bad thing! Just funny that other people are seeing influences that I don't even notice anymore.
