This boils down to "AI doesn't handle markdown well, here are some alternatives that are worse to write in and less legible for humans"
The point of markdown is to be simple to write, human readable when unformatted, and machine readable if you want it. I don't care if your LLM doesn't know what to do with it.
Films that no-one has seen aren't going to be influencing peoples knowledge. I notice you haven't named any either. For more information please see: Burden of Proof
This discussion is about jol's claim that hollywood is responsible for covering up slavery in Brazil. Those are the goalposts. The fact that hollywood collaborates with the US military to promote their interests is only relevant if you can show a link to slavery in Brazil.
I'm not sure that's fair. Hollywood isn't the history channel, its job isn't to educate the world and they certainly aren't conspiring to suppress knowledge of the slave trade in Brazil. They just haven't made many films that feature it.
I'm sure proton would clear the inboxes before making the addresses available, so there's no risk of seeing legitimate mail meant for someone else.
In terms of misdirected mail there are two types:
Mistyped email addresseswhere a user has made a typo when entering their email somewhere
Randomly typed email addresseswhere a user entered a random email when signing up for a service they didn't care about
Both of these can affect any existing email address (so proton's plans make no difference), and only type 1 could be a privacy risk.
Email addresses aren't secret, nor are they personally identifiable (unless they contain your name or are linked with other personal information) so I don't see a problem here.
That’s a great point, instead of bombing Donbas Zelensky should have followed through on his campaign promises to end the war with them instead of escalating it. You do realize that Ukraine attacked a region that seceded from it because of a Nazi-style putsch backed by western imperialists?
You're not actually responding to anything I've said here.
When the shoe is on the other foot refers to a situation which Europeans cannot imagine, one without a USA able to project enough power to permit them political impunity - which is what you are describing, with scarcely even a veneer of faux moral outrage. Europe currently gets to act as a larger than life diplomatic and financial entity.
That's not what 'the shoe is on the other foot' means. This is pure projection as only Russia was trying to project military power here.
You’re going to need to do something other than cycle through the same Atlantic Council bullet points to phase me, Kyle.
These are basic facts about the reality of the conflict: 1. Russia started it. 2. It is illegal. 3. Putin can end it at any time. 4. It is progressing an an unsustainable pace for Russia. 5. Russia is now importing oil from other nations due to Ukrainian strikes on refineries.
Not invading your neighbours is actually how you show that you're not Hitler. Putin can end this war any time he likes, no diplomacy with Trump or Starmer required.
Also, 'when the shoe is on the other foot'? you mean, 'when the UK invades its neighbours and ends up in an unwinnable stalemate with no real allies and international sanctions that leaves it begging for diplomacy while refusing to back down from a pointless, illegal war'?
Grow up Ivan, (and stay away from tall buildings if you're going to claim you're smarter than Putin)
"Please you can't keep ignoring us like this! We have so much of value to discuss and can be taken seriously!"
In reality the UK and Russia have nothing to discuss while the illegal invasion of Ukraine continues. Talks with Putin are futile (and Starmer isn't going to go behind Zelenski's back unlike certain other politicians). It also wouldn't be good for Starmer's image back home; red carpets look best when rolled out by friendly nations in the spirit of cooperation, not by KGB thugs with delusions of grandeur.
