  • Just nabbed Necesse now that it's out of early access; looking forward to playing with my kiddos :)

  • I worked a factory job for several years that had nearly unrestricted internet and the ability to install programs. There's a LOT of options here depending on your technical skill and what you're able to get away with. One of my favs was setting up a remote connection to my home network so I could work on project there without much fuss on the work computers and was easy to just close the connection if needed.

Also games. I played a lot of games... even designed some with all the time we had.

Learning web development was my most productive though; I was able to contribute to the company and got promoted to IT which launched my career to where I am now.

  • This was me. At first I automated some commonly used spreadsheets and then made some simple web tools to help our team which eventually led to getting to their IT department and now I work from home full time as a developer.

  • Emulators, whether installed locally or played via an online version, are great too - replayed Ocarina of Time over night shift and was awesome for getting through that time

  • Yeah my kiddos were born when I was 15 and 17. Wife and I dated all of high school and planned to marry anyways.

  • At 18 I was married with 2 kids. I skipped college to focus on work and providing for my family.

That was 2002. Since then we've adopted 6 more and are currently fostering 2 that we hope to adopt.

  • Agreed. For anything beyond the simplest setup membership is the way to go especially if near enough to some of the cheaper options; we had a Planet Fitness open near us that offers $10/month for lowest tier membership (prior it was YMCA at $70/month for the family).

  • Safety razor

Blades are extremely cheap and always gives a great shave.

    Elliptical and dumbbells

Gym memberships add up quick so went with a cheaper elliptical and a nice set of adjustable dumbbells.

    Kobo ereader

As I get more into reading I've come to appreciate that this one allows loading my own ebooks from my PC which can save a ton depending on use case.

  • This 100%

I do my own renovations and build some simple furniture etc.; my drill and miter saw in particular have been invaluable.

  • I'm in a similar situation currently hosting Pihole on my Pi's and Jellyfin on a SFF refurbished PC that's running some other project. I've decided to go with a NUC, most likely beelink, and intend to install Proxmox to then run container VMs for each of the various projects to more easily manage them.

  • The board games: Nightfall, World-Z League, and Unchained.

  • Man... I spent a lot of time playing the original N along with some level design. Super fun times. Cool to see them still going strong.

  • Monody by TheFatRat

I love his work especially with Laura Brehm and this one specifically has a nice slow build without any vocals for a while which I find more pleasant to wake up to.

  • Disc golf

I don't have the power or accuracy to score well nor the time to invest in improving. I do love the time walking through the woods with family and friends sharing the experience as we goof around.

  • +1 for Beyond All Reason :)

So far I've only played against the simple AI bots and some easy barbarians; mostly I team up with my kids and we just try out different ways to mess around. Fun times.

  • Nitroglycerin :(

Glad issues were found when they were though and am consistently getting better :)
