  • Not to mention the fact that a bunch of banking apps won’t work on LineageOS. You can try magisk as a workaround for some, but others just won’t.

  • Yeah Linux can be troublesome if you’re dual booting on a single drive. Updates can break the GRUB. Also it’ll take a while to optimise your workflow (like finding replacement for Windows apps).

  • We don’t need to start with big products such as phones. Start small, such as moving off to a new email for personal use. Keep the gmail one for junk use (i.e: when signing up to services). Ask your closest friends to switch to Signal instead of WhatsApp. Use Firefox instead of Chrome (you can import all your browser settings). This process will take years and shouldn’t simply be a knee jerk reaction).

  • The Donald has Hitler levels of luck in that regard.

  • Yeah HP’s recent elite book is unfortunately popular with businesses. My office got them when we were about to be issued. Everyone complained, so they decided to move back to Dell for standard issue. Unfortunately I’m stuck with HP for next few years.

  • They need to get off Twitter. Go back to using the Press for official statements of high importance. And use Mastodon (Bluesky can interact with Mastodon instances in the future iirc) for rest. As a longer term project, move govt systems to Linux.

  • Number of reasons. Works well with Apple products, long battery life, way more powerful for most normal (sometimes applies to even some basic UI devs and small project video editing). It’s got great hardware. However Apple is a nightmare capitalist company that’ll try to dime and nickel you for every possible thing.

  • Likely he took implants but never really worked for them. Just a conjecture.

  • Canada is still well protected, unlike rest of Europe which has a land border with Russia. Post Ukraine, it’s the turn of ex Soviet states (i.e. Lithuania, etc) to start googling where to move?

  • That’s never changing. You can connect a separate storage drive but it’ll be slower than the built in one.

  • Imagine a scenario where a bunch of these are used as a server and to power cycle all of them need to turned off.

  • I mean he’s legally obligated to, not really a choice. He can say screw it, but then he opens himself up to legal troubles.

  • It typically happens during updates. People have reported their grub screwing up. If you’re able I would honestly suggest separate drives

  • Exactly, Twitter still has over 200 million DAU. Thread has about 30 million, Bluesky has less. Mastodon is worse.

Things like my city’s metro communication is still on Twitter. People aren’t going leave anytime soon.

  • One of my Indian friends said she felt invisible when visiting France. Apparently being stared at just for being a woman is common in India.

  • In France you can have it delivered to a post office. To pick it up you’ll need to show a state id card as proof.
