  • while understandable, if i was american i might actually prefer surveillance by foreign country. At least if i was part of group in danger like lqbt.

  • scam is kind of oversaturated word nowdays

  • creates content? Out of what? I dont deny that there are some use cases for ai that are good, but ultimately its all built on backs of people who have actually contributed to this world. If it was completely non-profit it would be more okay, but as it currently is ai is tool of exploitation and proof that law protects only the rich and binds only us.

  • "flaw" implies they didnt do it on purpose

  • if i cant run something at linux i'll just do without it. Might try virtual machine if its something really crucial but might not care to even bother. Fortunately any games i know that will not run are kind of games that i wouldnt want to touch anyway.

  • stalker anomaly, though i'm not sure if it qualifies as a mod or its own game.

  • such stupid thing to sell that spyware with, makes me think of earlier people "buying" gold and gems from natives for worthless baubles because they didnt know better about value of either. And even if it doesn't gather any information you care about someone taking, its still taking something valuable for no compensation > the training data and information in general that might be of use to someone at least and thus makes microsoft more money.

  • Finland and sweden were having a competition about which language is the most beautiful. Finland was let to choose the sentence and "saari, saari, heinäsaari, heinäsaaren neito". In swedish its "Ö, ö, hö ö, hö ö mö"

(in english its "island, island, grassy island, grassy island's maiden")

  • but if he went to mars it would be wonderful, if he stayed there

  • misguided. people should be against corporations as they are the ones who make technology a problem.

  • if constitution doesnt protect them, that means the whole thing is just piece of paper and effectively null under america's current government.

  • I wonder how many of these people voted for current government or didn't vote at all

  • I wonder when they start removing being able to make administrator account on regular licences and make you beg the ai for anything that requires elevated rights.

  • And at some point you will be basically required to have one if they become popular enough. Either through pressure from society or because society gets structured in such way its really inconvenient to be without one.

  • Tried it, I like the idea. Demo seemed really short, but maybe that also means there are a lot of things that can be different based on actions of previous players. I think its worth keeping an eye on.

  • first you download something and it has nothing malicious, then you update it later and then it has something.

  • V as female felt more apt for me than V as male

  • just like y2k was just a media hoax, since it didnt happen?

  • it doesnt have to be just solar power gained from solarcells, there could be all kinds of novel solutions to get more out of what can be harnessed. Things could be combined to get better results or they could be used for unconventional things to get something new.

But such innovation doesnt happen unless there is need for it, and companies dont see renewable energy as big priority as rest of us, otherwise there would be crazy competition for who invents better stuff and still using fossil fuels would get you laughed at. Only way to create such need is to force companies into it by threatening profits more directly, as looming eco collapse doesnt seem to concern them since its oh so many quarters away.
