    Just ignore this as it is meant to rile up people, just ignore them. Ukraine and Europe should send a message to russia that they are ready for a surrender and prepared to start talking about reparations from russia. If they do not respond continue bombing them. In fact, with the support of Europe Ukraine should expand the war into russia (beyond what they already have).

    Main thing to take away from this is: ignore the children on a BS mission and setup a fact and reality based alternative where adults can join and discuss what to do with this war from russia and how to handle and close it.If you respond to this nonsense meeting and get annoyed or whatever, you just legitimized that group of clowns.

    You just described a thing of mine I cannot help but do; explain the ever loving crap out of thingsI need to be careful with that though as relatives start to complain and push back on me telling things over and over.Thing is, until I see a full comprehension on the other side on what I try to convey I just keep explaining in variations, keep finding metaphors and keep pestering you until you 'get it'. Some say it is a virtue, some say it is a hindrance.

  • I use NPM in a docker container. It could not be easier in my opinion but then again, I did not use any of the alternatives so I might be missing out on something, who knows. I did manage a couple of proxy servers in the past based on Apache and I can tell you that NPM is much easier and logical to me than that.

    Just create a compose file and start it. Create DNS records pointing to your NPM IP address/exposed IP and make a host in NPM sending traffic to the right container IP:port. The compose file is super simple, could not be easier. Here's mine for example:

    I just make sure ports 443 and 80 are exposed on my router so DNS records can point to that IP adrdess. All traffic on port 80 gets re-routed to 443.

    I'm probably stating all the obvious things here 😀

  • I tried today, about 4 hours ago I guess? And this is about MySQL but perhaps the MariaDB issues are related? Anyway, I know it works for some (most?), just not for me and my attention span has only so much to spend on a graphing tool for db's so I'm good. I was just curious, tried it out and failed. That's all there is to it tbh. And as it was the very 1st step, I was immediately done as I have no clue what else will not work for me and I have only so much time and energy for project like this.

    Tried the generic and v5.4 scripts for MySQL to generate the schema information.

    Both returned [NULL]

    MySQL is running on Docker and I use DBeaver to access it. MySQL is version 8.4.0.I stopped trying to use the app after that tbh

    This statement makes it about Labour and how they are bought and staff the board to game the whole show.Sure, Labour has it's issues but how and why on earth did you mention Labour in your post and yet fail to mention the true villains of this story, the Tories?

    This reeks of modern political discourse; blame left/labour/liberal/woke but conveniently forget to mention it is actually the mostly the right who keeps introducing legislation and laws to undermine the average citizen.

    This is an issue created and matured under the rule of conservatives/Tories. Asking if the other side, i.e. Labour, will 'fix' the crap created by Tories is difficult to answer, who knows what the conservatives did at the time? They might have had provisions in the deal that make it much harder to re-nationalize then you or I think. My point is, you are asking the builders if they can re-build the house which was demolished, burned to a cinder and then salted the earth by the previous builders. Yeah, there's always a possibility to fix things but you best believe the mess created is much, much bigger and problematic than you initially think. And while asking you insinuate the current builder is actually (partially) to blame. My guess is that it will take no effort or time for people to actually believe this crap and fully blame Labour for this fiasco.

    And if you doubt me or find my statements a bit 'over the rop', remember there are millions of people who believe Obama should have stopped 911 and Katrina. Yep, that is the US but the principle stands: people are morons.

  • Can you explain how this is a Labour issue?The privatization happened under Tories (Thatcher), the whole setup of that scheme has had plenty of time under Tory for years and years of rule where they made sure all that you complain about actually happened.

    Labour has been in power for what, 6 months now? And all this is because of ... Labour?

    Seriously, educate me on how this is the fault of Labour and why you fail to mention it all started and matured under Tory rule.

  • You got some good replies and I personally am enamored by LocalSend, it is worth checking it out.

    However, there is a simple way if a) you use whatsapp and b) the devices involved have access to whatsapp.This involves not just sending files but you can send text and whatever whatsapp supports and you'll have a history of these chats should you need to have them later again. Probably possible with other platforms but I use whatsapp so that is what I setup for information transfer to myself.The thing you want to do is create a chat group, add a friend for a very brief moment, remove said friend again after they accepted, enjoy your private group where you can dump any and all info into and pick up from wherever you have whatsapp available. The trick is to add a friend for a couple of seconds. If you create a group you are automatically in it but you cannot use it until you add someone else, then it becomes active and use-able. The fact that you end up alone in that group does not make it unavailable again. Weird but it works.

  • Used to mess around with multiple Apache Proxy Servers. When I left that job I found Docker and (amongst other things) NPM and I swear, I stared at the screen in disbelief on how easy the setup and config was. All that time we wasted on Apache, the issues, the upgrades, the nightmare in setting it all up...

    If I were to do that job again I would not hesitate to use NPM 100% and stop wasting my time with that Apache Proxy mess.

  • Ok, thanks. I think that the combo Immich and icloudpd seems to be a way forward for now as that combo seems to be able to download iCloud files to local (my server) and delete them from iCloud. Once on my server I can move them to Immich and that should just about be it. Famous last words, I know, but I think it will be fine.

  • That is a good method it seems. So Immich has a feature to backup iCloud/Photos files and use these images. If so then deleting is the only thing left. Did you ever consider using icloudpd to do the transfer of files and have that also delete the files in iCloud? That seems like a solution where you are no longer required to manually delete the files anymore.
