  • And we knew that shit was happening there, just didn't have confirmation it was Larry Fucking Ellison and Bill Gates enabling it.

And since it was onebigassholenamedlarryellison et.al. to me that means it's already here in the west, we just don't have confirmation yet.

  • I don't use outlook, I use fucking mutt

lol, I love making proprietary software users mad.

  • OK sure but this was just, "use your gmail or whatever"

  • Haha, I just had a supplier for my wife's business ask for the same info. I can't find anyone who doesn't want to "store" my card info and who the hell knows what they are doing. Probably an old Pentium3 back in the warehouse.

Might just go with Uline even though I don't like them and they are expensive. I bet they don't have PDF forms sent through email.

  • ... and that's why people like me get scolded by receptionists, I suppose.

  • Yeah, PGP? You cool with that? And what happens when the person on the other end uses GPG? Corrupted sig?

Most of us just quit using that shit 10 years ago. email is insecure, everything I send is for everyone to read.

  • I did sign up with epic/mychart today and printed my shit out to hand deliver to the provider on my next appointment in two days.

  • True Alpha

  • That's interesting. I've never let it outside my LAN so I don't really feel affected, I also didn't get an email.

ope: I lied. got the email 2 hours ago.

  • Narrator: Jesus fuck, I have to say the line again?

  • So what's your count, bro? Save me the trouble of looking it up myself and all.

I kid but the serious lack of security in medical isn't just in Australia. I'm just a construction worker with an interest in networking and such but I see blatant violations nearly every job I'm on.

  • Nah, only server operators were notified. Assume all accounts were affected.

4h edit: well then. Seems like this statement may not be true and my account may actually be out in the wild with you filthy sluts. Going to check tomorrow morning and might shut the whole thing down.

  • Banksy coming to town?

  • Who is this up and coming artist?! That piece will certainly hang in the Met one day.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

  • I'm not familiar with their security but was just thinking about the little "click" that keeps your card in place while they read the "chip"

  • Yeah, and I think those little traps can be defeated by thieves. Not sure of the details but it's not secure like when the thing would just swallow your card

  • Stoicism isn't a state, it's a practice. I think the Buddhists act the same way. None of us will ever become truly "enlightened" but if we keep trying we become better ourselves.

I cannot change your emotions or actions towards me; I can only change how I respond to your emotions or actions towards me. It's obviously way more complicated than that but yeah, you might be a candidate to read some Seneca or Epictetus. Not going to be a cure all but might help you as you navigate this fucked up world.

  • People used to leave their cards in the machines all the time. When it was the mechanical "jaws" or whatever the bank could capture the card and keep it safe. Now that they are nearly all "swipe" style that might lock the card a little, they keep you safe by making you take it back after every transaction.
