  • Now remove the weighted part...

  • It literally just sounds like a department for nepo hires and fake promotions.

  • That's because US customs and the TSA is not and should not be taken seriously, and they're known to lie about pretty much everything, constantly.

If they ever make a statement, about anything, you can safely assume that the opposite is the actual truth of what they claim.

  • Anyone who thought he would, should contact Adult Protective Services and ask about how to aquire a caregiver. Because they don't have the mental capabilities to function in society on their own.

  • Just to clarify: The vast majority of people who talk about the whole "work hard and you'll become rich" thing, are knowingly lying. They don't actually believe that, they're just narcissists who say it because they want everyone else to do all the work. So they lie and make up things like it making you rich, or it being part of the bible or even human nature to "have" to work.

  • I'm pretty sure you can trace the management downturn of American companies back to a change in MBA curriculum.

You can see when they started getting hired after the shift. Where they were taught that as long as your department is doing well and has positive numbers, LITERALLY nothing else matters. The company could be crashing and burning around you, you might even be causing it, but as long as those numbers are going up, you'll quickly get hired at another company. Because every single iota of their education is about pleasing investors who only care about money now, and not potential money in a few years.

  • It's basically impossible to block everything, although most of what you listed in a comment is unavailable to websites. To minimize what is available you can use ublock origin, umatrix and user-agent switcher.

  • And the best version is by Doctor Spin aka. Andrew Lloyd Webber. The guy who wrote the most famous songs in Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Evita, etc.

  • Literally the same reason why Ford sells 150s and 250s and Volvo sells 70s and 90s: They are different products and don't base the version numbers on their competitor.

  • As long as enough people are narcissistic and lack empathy, this will happen. Because at the end of the day, conservatism is narcissism. As is easily demonstrated in all tthe "leaporads ate my face" social media groups. Where you can see them cheering something on when it's hurting others, and then crying as soon as it impacts themselves or someone close to them.

  • Best I can do is calls for fundraising, canvasing and doing better next election.

  • Yes, it's obvious sarcasm. But reading comprehension has seriously gone to shit in the last decade or so.

  • Cool, so he follows the bible and is saying people should be working just as much, or little, as him, right? RIGHT!? What a joke.

I remember hearing about journalists as a kid, the ones who would actually ask questions and investigate. Not just reguritate whatever word vomit these troglodytes spew.

  • Yeah, it's very obvious that some of the people responding here don't interact much with non-tech people, and they have DEFINITELY never worked IT.

Most people aren't interested in learning the more intricate things. And if you try to force them, they're not going to get more interested as they learn, because they literally are not interested in tech. They want to accomplish a task, if that takes a bunch of learning just for one thing, they'll go a different route, or pay someone else to do it for them.

  • That has to be one of the most out of touch takes I've seen in a while. You're basically saying that things should be intentionally more complicated, and you expect the result to be people just power through and getting used to things being that way, instead of just stopping.

  • wtf

  • It's why the trope of an enemy that never stops/is endless is so terrifying, and thus common in media.

  • I know someone who joined on a bet that he couldn't get in, and he said the exact same thing.

  • people apparently don't agree with me that nu-trek ( basically all star trek after ST:ENT) has been... Shall we say, not star trek.

A lot of people do, but a few of the mods who are active in many star-trek comunities don't. And they actively try to push out people who disagree.

But with all the disappointments I gaf with new star trek, i just stopped watching all the new stuff. I'm sorry, I can't believe people anymore when they tell me "but this time, this time seriously, it's exactly like TNG man!!"

The best new show was unironically Lower Decks. The exaggerated, comedy cartoon about lower ranked people on a smaller ship.

I also got banned a bunch of times I think for promoting "The orville" which IMHO is the true spiritual successor to TNG.

The Orville is literally TNG fanfic made by someone owed enough favors from important people. It's good, but if you're a big fan of TOS and TNG, and other sci-fi shows of the era, you'll spend half the time going "Oh, it's that episode".
