  • Controlled leaks from Pelosi's team would be my guess. Clearly she didn't want the conversation to stay private.

Edit: Nevermind the other commenter already said this.

  • The fact that Trump has seriously turned down the noise against Biden since the calls for him to step down should let you know who he wants to face in the polls.

  • And if people do care Harris has a much cleaner voting record as a senator than Biden ever did.

  • I genuinely do not care who owns the factory as long as it creates jobs.

  • Well this wasn't his first corruption charge and dems didn't try to force him out for that first charge.

  • was the way she dismissed it make it so he can't be charged again in either another jurisdiction or by the appropriate (in her mind) prosecution team?

I don't think so, it would have said dismissed with prejudice if so.

  • Yep his poll numbers went up after he was originally banned. Could be a coincidence, but it does make sense.

  • Seems like they admitted malfeasance in the statement I copied. Also an online comment doesn't constitute journalism so I think I'm in the clear there.

  • The problem is that they did it at the request of the interviewee. Clearly they see it as a problem.

With a high-profile interview comes a listener expectation that journalistic interview standards will be applied ... We did not meet those expectations

  • Pretty clear breach of journalistic ethics, no?

  • I also love the implication that disarming a country is beyond the pale when the US does this through sanctions to the Palestinians and other countries.

  • You're probably correct the more I look into this.

  • This is El Pais America, separate from the outlet in Spain.

  • lol

  • Appreciate the reply. And sorry for being a bit of a dick about it. It's just one of my pet peeves since seeing it repeated for years.

  • Those were the Sweden rape charges and that was actually 2010. He went to the embassy in 2012. The Trump admin charged him under the Espionage Act in 2018.

  • Typing this into duckduckgo shows me nothing about the them having the RNC emails:

    did wikileaks have rnc emails

Not a single link. Please provide the link that says they had them. If you can't read in between the lines, I'm saying what you said is untrue but gets repeated constantly.

  • Couldn't find it in English since lets be honest western media lies about what happens in South America, but here's El Pais in Spanish about it.

    https://elpais.com/america/2024-06-26/el-comandante-del-ejercito-de-bolivia-fue-destituido-tras-amenazar-a-evo-morales-no-puede-ser-mas-presidente-de-este-pais.html

Basically he was dismissed since he threatened to arrest Evo Morales who is the former president and a possible future canidate for the president. Morales is a very popular left wing leader who was forced out in 2019, but all western media will tell you is that he is corrupt while denying the legitimacy of the elections he won. Morales is also the first indigenous leader of Bolivia the only majority indigenous South American country I believe which has a lot to do with the opposition to him.
