tech-savvy geek and queer disaster(I also hate capitalism and have a general interest in social sciences)

  • Luckily I've always kinda seen (at least aspects of it) as an interactive book on steroids, which is why I always read everything lolBut I rly regret save scumming in my first play through, took quite a bit of magic away as in "I'm bending the experience to my will and not enjoying it fully" which I'm trying to remedy now

But ye, it is truly a masterpiece and a wonderful work of art. The experience is just 👌.The fact that we'll never get a true successor might just be the most disco thing about it all....

But I'm always save-scumming to get Kim on the dance floor no matter what

    "understandable, have a nice day"

  • Mostly "Disco Elysium" (translates from Latin to "I learn [the world of] Elysium" btw. OFC it's disco AF too)

And yes, it's been 6 years since release and 4 years since "The Final Cut".... ((:

I love this game SM. It's such a welcome break from the neoliberal postmodernist slop, being a genuine piece of art. I love it's materialist and politeconomic perspective on society; in general, the writing is just superb (there is no going back after it too, most games and art in general (including novels and films) might just seem mediocre afterwards)...The writers did their research about basically everything they wrote about (even racial """science""", OFC depicted negatively), with a focus on psychology, political economy, sociology and philosophy.

Initially played it in 2021 (but save scummed a lot :/ ). Both me as a person, and my understanding of political economy and philosophy have grown quite a bit since then.I tried replaying it in 2023, but didn't get very far (mostly due to mental health) Recently my interest in the game rekindled and I'm trying to play as a progressive social democratic superstar hobocop this time lol

I've also been getting back into Counter Strike 2 the last few eeks, but it's taken a major backseat to Disco Elysium (a large factor being: I want to make a deck of Anki flashcards to memorise util lineups of the current map rotation; but I just can't summon the motivation for it, so it "blocks" me from playing)

  • huh, I didn't say they should have programmed it in Rust. I was just joking about the meme Rust rewrite like a lot of C/C++ projects

  • I wonder if I'll live long enough to witness the Rust rewrite of ReactOS

(it's written in C and has had a snail pace development, well, since forever. not meant as a negative btw. it's just that their resources and demand for it are quite limited afaik)

  • Ja, genauso meinte ich das ^^'

  • Leider (inzwischen) richtig und wichtig, besonders an Grundschulen...

Nur sollte man nicht nur den Verbotshammer rausholen, sondern auch richtige Nutzung beibringen

  • The bot might just be more humane than any Israeli official

  • please don't insult the FSF like that by comparing it to the LF...

The FSF might be unpragmatic and (thus) often horribly out of date, but it's neither opportunistic nor engaged in corporate bootlickery.

At some times it can even be dogmatic, but you can at least mostly depend on it keepig it's spine and vision!(even if I partially disagree with it, as it's doctrine does not take political economy — and thus the root problem that is capitalism — into account)

  • Isn't that objectively a false statement?

  • 🫡

  • 🗣️🗣️🗣️

We’re still preparing the notes for this release, and will post them here when they are ready. Please check back later.

    🔥🔥🔥

  • Happy to help :)

(especially when it comes awesome libre software :p)

  • does it make it so that it's only "ready" to be triggered by ntfy when it would otherwise poll the server on its own very frequently (so you end up actually saving some battery)?

That's how I understand it, yes. You change the behaviour of the app by configuring it to use UnifiedPush, so there is less background usage to restrict

  • Thx for the kind words!

I left the background service on for all the messengers, it's not like the Unifiedpush ones have anything major to use anyway. This increased the reliability and peace of mind + they never show up as major battery users for me either

  • it's rly cool that you're self hosting this stuff! though I can imagine running your PC 24/7 just for that is quite annoying

also yeah, upstream support for UnifiedPush in the clients for both Signal and Telegram would be great...

But I can imagine that it's not rly a priority for them.(I'm not actually skilled enough (yet) to help implement that though either)

  • So you have set it up over Mollysocket? Do you use your own or a remote instance?

I just haven't got around to setting it up myself yet... (+ I don't have my own server yet, so I can't self host :/)

  • I can recommend Molly for Signal and Mercurygram for Telegram. Both support UnifiedPush too!
