  • Does the shelf just look weird or is this actually unrefrigerated? Something about that fundamentally terrifies me for some reason..

  • 💩.

  • Since the current chart goes from solid to liquid, would the extended chart include gas and plasma?

  • I'd be curious to see a chart like this but with savings or some other form of stored wealth! Because I'd like to believe that smarter people might not earn that much more, but they're more diligent about saving what they do get

  • It still steers like normal ^^

  • It's too short for the whole box so it would stick over the back by quite a bit, or it would stick out to the sides if I put it there the other way around.

  • That's exactly the point, dog trainers do quite often use commands in other languages so that the dog doesn't hear the command words in everyday life and gets desensitized to it.

  • one long straw with the sole goal to steal yo smoothie

  • Sometimes brown bits get stuck to the bottom of the pan while cooking and the best way to get them off is to toss some water into the pan before those bits can burn. Not much, maybe like a tablespoon - it dissolves all the brown bits into a very tasty brown sauce that coats the rest of the food in the pan. It's really not complicated, but the added moisture sometimes makes the cooking take a bit longer and isn't ideal when your goal is to cook something very dry and crispy (like when frying tofu)

  • I exclusively use stainless steel pans in my kitchen. None of the weird chemicals from teflon, I can scrape the shit out of them with metal tools and I can toss them in the dishwasher with no second thought. The only downside is that I have to deglaze from time to time while cooking to get stuck bits off, but it's really not that bad.

  • After further consideration, I would also give them a Solar-Powered TV that plays nothing but a Video of Hatsune Miku doing Fortnite Dances

  • They're masculine in German too - "Der Lappen". Despite that fact, some men get quite upset when you call them Lappen. How dramatic 🙄

  • There are parts of the world where squirrels are invasive species. For example Grey Squirrels are invasive to the UK if I recall?

Edit, I just looked it up to fact check myself and yeah Eastern Grey Squirrels are invasive to the UK and parts of Europe and are a threat to native red Squirrels and the like. Ironically, they were introduced to the areas they're now invasive in because people liked their aesthetics and wanted to hunt them. People are absolute idiots.

  • We were having pretty big problems with our yarn configurations a few weeks ago because the default npm registry is now blocked for security reasons and we're supposed to only use our own internal registry. The coworker who was supposed to fix it asked his AI whether he can override the configuration for the location for the default registry and the AI said no, so he closed the ticket as "can't do anything about it I guess 🤷". A few days later, another coworker just went and changed that configuration by looking at how custom scopes are defined and using common sense. Worked instantly, we haven't been having any yarn issues since.

  • Something like Stackoverflow is probably the biggest source of code to train a LLM on, and since it's based around posting code that almost works but you got some problem with it, I'm absolutely not surprised that the LLMs would pick up the habit of making the same subtle small mistakes that humans make.

  • ...can you read? I'm saying that the default is that everyone pays for themselves. Paying for someone else is a niche situation that you need to actively seek out.

  • Being this weird about not paying would be an instant no for me. Around here it's the norm that everyone pays for themselves on a date and even implying that someone will want you to pay for them is pretty rude. The only non-rude way to pay for the entire date is to ask for the full check when the waiter comes before the other person can ask to split it. Usually with the line "I'll take this one, next one's on you ;)" which doesn't really mean that the next one's on them but is more about the implication that there will be a next date.
