  • First guy: “I’ve never been manic in my life. I’m not bipolar."

I'm just highly skeptical of this.

Second guy: That wasn’t the worst of it. At that point he had blown nearly $12,000 trying to create world-changing code. He became manic, and his concerned therapist called the cops to check in on him. He was institutionalized for nearly two weeks

Yeah that sounds right. Regarding "AI psychosis," everything I've read indicates it exacerbates existing psychoses, it doesn't create them. That's not to say it can't mess with people's psychology, especially the stuff around suicide, but I think the "AI psychosis" the media portrays is not real

    Oh shit

  • The National Guard is a part time job, one weekend per month and two weeks per year. Unless you get called by your governor, that is, to patrol the streets of New Orleans indefinitely with no end goal. Also, no one around you wants you there. Not a surprise that a mistake like this would happen under these circumstances.

Also, going to the bathroom in the French Quarter can be an ordeal for anyone, honestly

  • LinkedIn is fine. I work in community-based healthcare and interact with a shit ton of people from other organizations, and having LinkedIn to look people up is incredibly useful. You don't need to post on LinkedIn, or read the feed at all. For me, it's purely a way to connect with other people I know. If someone does an internet search for your name, it's also likely going to be the first hit, and can help prospective employers know who you are

  • What evidence is there of that?

And are you implying Kid Rock hasn't gotten plastic surgery?

  • There was a subreddit dedicated to this, I don't recall the name of it. People would upload a short recording of themselves humming a song and people would try to identify it. I would frequent that community

  • What, you don't like being manfluenced? Something off-putting to you about manfluence? What's wrong with being a manfluencing manfluencer?

  • A 32 oz bag of dried beans is $2. A 2 lb bag of carrots, also $2. Cook these together and you have a ton of meals

  • Texas ranchers in shambles

  • Yeah, I said when it functions well

  • When I was little, we'd listen to music while the TV was on and laugh when their mouths lined up with the words, which happened a lot

  • Fuck, now the Parry Gripp song is stuck in my head. My son moved on from this a couple years ago, but the horrors persist

  • Gumbo. Usually I put chicken and sausage in it, but if I can get some good shrimp and crab, that's the tops.

  • FEMA is pretty useful when it functions well. Some of the other stuff, not so much

  • But this is keeping Epstein in the news?
