  • Oh, I am well aware of C++. But I assure you that they were not referencing that when selling this goofy shit to consumers in the early 90s. I think it's just a really bad logo.

  • Lol... Why don't you look up what % of scientific breakthroughs in the US are government funded.

    Oops.

It's really fucking ignorant to competely disregard a peer reviewed, scientific study, simply because the URL in which it's posted on, contains "gov". Grow up.

  • Fireworks also aren't legal in large swathes of the US. Doesn't stop people.

  • Not all well water is untreated...

  • Well luckily for you, apparently it's now acceptable to just blast your music out loud in public.

  • I wouldn't even call it a luxury. Hasn't been for years.

  • Unrelated, but anyone remember "VCR+"? Man I'm old...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_recorder_scheduling_code

Edit: I guess it was actually "VCR Plus+" which is dumb af (it's not a C++ reference. I assure you that the marketing people at the time had no idea what that was. I'm 99% it was just a bad logo that has "plus" and a '+').

  • Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime

If only the inequality gap were this small...

  • Because we are taught by society to not poop at work.

LOL I must have been sick at home during that lesson...

  • I can confirm that gut biome is big... Back in my 20s, I seemingly wiped mine out halfway through a course of antibiotics, and it took years to get back to something somewhat normal.

  • Pros poop during the meal.

  • I've been running it on my laptop for months and it's been a fantastic experience

  • Right, but when they go after people who fraudulently write things off (either intentionally or not), who do you think they go after? The gig worker, or the multi-millionaire with a stable of attorneys?

  • Thanks for being polite, I guess?

But I hope you understand that your comment means literally nothing to me.

  • What a shithole country we turned out to be.

  • I don't think his reasoning is relevant at all. I could not care less why he chose to wore jeans. The rule is stupid, period.

  • I don't care all that much for golf, but if someone wanted to wear jeans while golfing, I would not give two shits. Anyone who does is just gatekeeping their boring-ass networking scheme, err sport.

  • Literally every professional sports has some form of equipment requirement and chess is probably one of the cheapest.

For real? You realize that those requirements are utilitarian, right? And if there are any relics leftover from old days, or bullshit rules that aren't utilitarian, then they're just as dumb as the OP situation.
