You're on lemmy dude, take as much time as you want to respond there isn't a timer. You can engage with the information provided at your own pace, or not at all, up to you.
Let's be honest, the average american isn't saying rich people. They are saying "them" or "the deep state" or some other dogwhistle relating to jews. Or they'll just find a term that abstracts the problem away from rich people.
I can't speak for the other games, but as a former player, FIFA did change a lot each year, usually its changes to physics, game speed, skill moves, mini games, and ofc graphics. Not $60 worth of game changes, but I'd argue it's similar with things like call of duty. Best value was always to skip every other year.
Also gambling. Doesn't get talked about enough but FIFA YouTubers are more or less payed by EA to shill packs and get people (usually teens) addicted to opening them. I probably bought $200 a year on packs from 2016-2020, usually money I didnt have too. Mostly why I stopped buying the games. (Stopped playing CounterStrike for the same reason)
These days, I just casually play mods of older games and get football manager every other game.
Maybe not true for phones, but the linux desktop IS usable day to day, and I'd say this has been true for atleast the last 5 years. KDE and GNOME are both fully fledged desktops, and with the popularity of snaps and flatpaks there isn't really alot getting in the way of software installation either. Even wine/proton has come so far I don't see the "linux bad for gaming" as an actual excuse anymore.
I started using linux exclusively on desktop in 2021 and I'm not any kind of programmer or anything, just a regular user. :)
This is gonna be a lot of work, like, a lot a lot of work.
You're on the right track, I think antix is your best starting point. Its the closest you'll get to a fully featured distro. Damn Small Linux would maybe be my next choice, but I'm not sure if development is ongoing.
Regardless, you want something without systemd. Im personally hopeless without it, but there are plenty of people who daily drive openrc, runit, etc so it's possible with determination.
id probably do 3gb of swap, maybe more if you are crashing a lot. I suspect even if you keep memory usage down you will be swapping A LOT. If you had even 1gb more memory I'd be less worried, but you're cutting it close.
If that's still not light enough, you could try using CDE or Motif as a desktop.
We have a few Chinese folks in the revolupedia discord so they definitely exist. We're pretty aggressively against modern China.
From what I've seen on Chinese social media, you have two kinda minds. The folks who want a return to maoism, and the folks that are more liberal minded. That's extremely reductive but that seems to be a sentiment repeated frequently by Chinese people so it's likely got some truth to it.
I don't uphold China, but I do think ~95% of what people have said in defense of China on this post is true. There's lot of propaganda that paints China as monstrously worse than it is.
Oh, the US for sure is involved. I don't remember the exact year but they literally backed a leader that was pro US like 12 years ago. That directly affected trade with Russia.
And this area of land we are talking about is pretty much Ukraines economy. The majority of manufacturing happens there. Convenient that Russia has loyalists there.
But let's not get into the weeds, my position is still what it is and it's been in my bio for a while now:
Russias imperialist, Ukraine is full of Nazis, and the US started it. Stop the war.
I know you don't, but these are the biggest questions of our time and I think anyone getting into socialist theory would be interested in seeing all sides of the argument.
Not ragebait, you've just been propagandized.
