The cost of a medication is negotiated between the government, through the Department of Health, and the supplier of the drug. The agreed price becomes the basis of the dispensed price of the medication which is negotiated between the government and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia under the current Community Pharmacy Agreement. The dispensed price includes the wholesaler’s markup, pharmacist’s markup, and a dispensing fee. Pharmacies purchase PBS-listed drugs from the wholesaler or supplier, and claim the difference between the dispensed price and the patient co-payment contribution from Medicare Australia.

the intro seems a naive view of the American dream. I’d argue veterans of WWII came home and achieved the American dream but the billionaires were well underway stealing the American dream during any war the author—being 44 years old—was deployed to. In fact, they were probably deployed for the billionaires who wanted more oil money.

23·6 months agosame way we can map the origin of the human species to west africa: identifying unqiue dna sequences of local areas and correlating the data (e.g. if they’ve found a certain dna sequence in all humans that they’ve also found on bones from 100,000 years ago in west africa, then that could suggest all humans originated from west africa at least 100,000 years ago)

idk if this needs to be said but the term ‘Gaslighting’ is the denominalisation of the 1944 film ‘Gaslight’, and doesn’t relate to the 19th century profession. one plot point in the film, the protagonist notices the gaslights in her house flickering, which her husband assures her is all in her mind.
