  • Some random dude promising to "donate from time to time" is not a valid business model.

A lot of people donating, while not spending that money on dumb projects, and worse exectutives is a valid business model. Mozilla just doesn't want to do that, because they care more about their executives than they care about Firefox.

  • They could try asking for donations, while getting rid of the massive drains on their budget.

  • Liberals want to tax the rich, Healthcare for all, Environmental protections, and publicly funded Education.

Then why do they keep electing people who do the opposite of that?

  • IIRC, you can't even donate to Firefox. You can only donate to Mozilla. It seems pretty clear to me why they set it up that way....

  • Spiders would be great at that. They work super hard!

  • There is a left in the voting population, but neither of the two major parties are left, they are center-right, and far-right. The Democratic leadership cosplay as leftists, in order to keep an actual leftist party from gaining power.

I might be misinterpreting Haloduder, but from what I see, the Democratic leadership are part of the current problem in the US. If we had an actual leftist party, Trump likely wouldn't have gotten into office. The people want something different. We want someone that fights for the masses, instead of the rich and powerful, but all we have been offered for the last few decades is Religious Facists, or Religious Facists enablers.

If we are going to call out the Red-Team for deporting people, torturing people, and pissing all over the Constitution, then we should also call out when the Blue-Team does that. But many liberals have yelled at me for pointing out the shortcomings of the false-left Blue-Team.

  • We have a child-rapist for a president, and people are being disappeared off the street and sent to torture prisons. Why were they considering coming here in the first place?

  • This made me throw up a little

  • Sure, but that's the problem. "status quo" is: Continuously getting worse, while politicians openly lie about how it's getting better. Voters very clearly don't want status quo. They want something different, and are clearly ready to burn everything down to get it. Maybe the Democrats should try offering up "Different, in a positive direction" instead.

  • Yeah, everything didn't get worse, just the basics like housing, healthcare, the economy, the environment, the military, policing...

  • I wish it was just "we’re not going to persecute our political rivals...." rather than "We're going to actively support our political rivals, and vote for their policies, and build up the systems that they use to persecute us"

  • Well, then why don't Democrats try to improve things for voters? It'd be a nice change of pace, and people probably wouldn't vote for Republicans the next time.

  • I wasn't doubtful, unfortunately. I went in a true-believer, expecting to get a Religious-Studies degree. But I left early as an Atheist. I'm glad that I did, but fundamentally shifting my life like that really messed me up. Deprogramming myself was the hardest, but best decision that I ever made.

  • Democratic Leadership when they have power: "We can't afford to give you the healthcare/housing/economy/peace/rights that we promised, which is well below the healthcare/housing/economy/peace/rights that you actually need, sorry. Anyway, we're off to spend all your tax money on the military, intelligence agencies, and our rich friends. Good luck out there."

Democratic Leadership afterwards: "Wait, why aren't you voting for us?"

  • How’d that help your cause? Gaza is doing great under Trump, right? Aren’t you glad you didn’t vote for Harris, now?

Who said things would be better for Gaza under Trump? I don't know that I saw anyone say that.

It's always amazing to me that liberals will get mad at the people who voted against Genocide, rather than get mad at the people with the power, the money, and the platform who chose Genocide, over winning an election.

  • If a company uses an insecure vendor that gets breached, isn't that still, by defnition, a breach of the company's data?

If you outsource your security to a less-than-reputable company, don't be surprised when you get less-than-reputable security.
