  • I've been using linux since ubuntu 5.04 so I dont need converting, but from business perspective we would need Office M365 desktop apps and MDM support. Also autodesk products. Personally I use M365 in browser, but feature parity is not up to 100%.

    I think when all win32 apps work, there will no longer be any reason for windows.

    Just slap a win7/win10 classic gui over it with some animations and we're going finally decimate all the other options for good.

  • Now its said aloud - now what? On thiis very moment there would be momentum to actually accomplish things, but as trump always chickens out, the momentum will mellow out unless things are done now.

    Boot hungary off the EU and take Canada into the bloc. Create EU armed forces and simplify/unify taxation across the EU. EU should be more united than now.

    Where things go wrong are when bigger EU nations have their own interests come into play to fuck it up for the rest of us. Like Germany swallowing everything coming from the US (because of car exports) or from Russia (because of gas import). There are challenges, but for 20 years I dont think EU has accomplished much in practical sense but more regulation upon regulation. I dont think that's a winner strategy.

  • Simple cropping, drawing and blurring are something I now know I used nearly daily basis earlier. Tried to find a gallery viewer that had simple pixelize and cropping, couldnt find one.

    Installed aves libre for pictures, and now using signal's inbuilt pixelize function.

  • Yeah but dont expect feature parity with samsung's dex. Dex's a mile away in small quality of life features. Android's baked in desktop is so barebones I cannot fathom it took google 9 years to get this out. Its embarrasing.

    I sold my samsung and moved to grapheneos, but I really miss dex. And gallery.

  • I've done this at some point. Didnt look up the source, but this might affect other ms sw as well, namely older office. If activated lets say within 90 days twice for a certain cd key, you were easier to call the number to get the windows activated (legally).

    Yeah I use linux myself so dont give a fuck all, but I've offered support for small companies which can be affected.

  • Linux needs an apple-like manufacturer (but in a good sense): good, marketable products with good support.

    If we're always relying for big current OEMs to offer linux option, they're gonna hide it and never offer 1:1 support compared to windows.

    I'm for some reason hoping for valve+some oem working together to offer a valid option to the current choices.

  • No. Ddr4 ram prices have been tripling this year.

    I needed ddr4 ecc, but couldnt justify paying 3x the price that I paid last year.

    Also wanted to buy ddr4 sodimm for my wife's laptop, you guessed it, 3x the price.
