  • And took how much from the CHIPs act?

  • They don’t learn a fucking thing do they?

This after attacking other convoys from Jose Andres.

What a bunch of arrogant dickbags.

  • It would be nice if the GrapheneOS dev would work it out with the FairPhone folks to make a device that could be supported. I don’t know why any company would hesitate to work with him, he is obviously doing good stuff, but I agree, Pixel only is kind of a turn off because it doesn’t seem like a long term path to building something sustainable in terms of both hardware and software. It’s a workaround.

  • Delete Lemmy for one

  • Not only that — what is the penalty for violating Section 60?

The army acts like the employee being assaulted was the only issue.

  • They got forked and were losing users?

  • So what you’re saying is, each site gets its own container?

  • Does this make containers unnecessary? Or basically built in?

  • Meanwhile, California won’t meaningfully build housing. This will do nothing to address the actual fucking problem, which is that there is a shortage of 2-3 million homes in the state. Let’s stop driving up the cost of housing with USELESS demand-side incentives that only increase competition for the limited supply of houses — further increasing prices. The only way to lower the cost of housing for everyone is to actually increase the supply.

God damn; I am democrat, but in the state of California you really wish there was an alternative some times.

Also, in an election year, whoever introduced this was an idiot. Now it becomes something Kamala has to defend.

  • There were signs it was coming, but I didn’t really accept it. When it did happen it was pretty distressing, but I had been planning to leave anyway. It ended up working out because I got to leave with some extra runway. They gave us 60 days notice, during which time we collected paychecks. I didn’t work at all during this time though. Instead I searched for a job. At the end of the 60 days we got about 6 weeks worth of pay, a prorated bonus, and our vacation days. I ended up finding a job that paid 3x as much before my 60 days were up and was able to pocket the severance money rather than live off it.

  • I’ve stayed at my share of Airbnbs booked by others, but never really enjoyed the feeling of sleeping in some strangers house. Also, disliked the impact of airbnbs on local housing markets. The idea of replacing long term housing with short term housing is completely stupid from a public policy perspective and a great way to ruin a city.

Additionally, I like being a customer, and anonymous. I don’t want to be rated by the host. I don’t want to be judged on whether I put my own towels in the washing machine before I checked out. If I’m paying, that shouldn’t be my damn job.

Also, airbnbs are random. Some are good, some are awful. Some hosts are fine, some are a bit too much. Hotels do vary, but on the whole, the experience is much more consistent.

  • Where as Tesla still has its ahead of it?

  • Waiting for the day the headline reads “Microsoft officially confirms its killing Windows.”

  • Same, lol. I thought this was a post to make me think he was more relatable and cool. Cause that’s how I felt after reading the first paragraph. When I realized who was making the post and his take on it, all I could think was, why is this guys face so small relative to the size of his head!

  • I just built my first gaming PC, which is the first gaming rig I’ve owned in 20 years. I did so because I could install all the games I wanted to play on Linux. I haven’t installed Windows and do not plan to.

  • I highly recommend watching American Conspiracy on Netflix. The way the CIA and government actually operates is pretty disturbing, but the subject of the documentary is how the justice department stole a software program from a private company and resold it to foreign governments so that it could raise funds to repay Earl Brian, who had provided $40 million to Iran to hold the hostages until after the election.

  • CEO or chairman?

  • I think it’s also that opposing China is bipartisan, but the Republicans take bribes from Putin.

  • Apparently it was creating massive problems for their franchisees in becoming profitable. Ever go into a subway and have the owner practically force you to buy a cookie? They’re trying to make up for the cheap ass sandwich.
