  • What're the advantages of a smart thermostat compared to one that you can have a schedule on? Unless they aren't available without that anymore I haven't shopped for one just thinking of our office one that has a day / night type settings. The one our office has is fairly plain, LCD screen with like 6ish buttons, shows if it's fan, off or heat / AC on. Seems simple enough without needing a smart device.

I can see wanting to use an application to set it would be nice but seems like smart devices aren't worth that comfort.

  • Plus NK can send them back to Russia to be deployed again and charge more for an experienced soldier.

  • Sawmills I knew about rotated areas they'd cut from and did tree planting in the summers in the areas logged to be sustainable. Of course in Canada there's not much shortage of trees to cut down anyways but I thought that was the usual way in US and Canada. I don't mean we should be cutting down 1/20th (I'm not sure how many years the rotations were offhand) of the trees each year or anything though.

  • Upvoting for the acknowledgement, not cause I think you're dumb. I read things incorrectly all the time. If only everyone could admit a simple misunderstanding gracefully, or at least with minimal frustration.

  • Definitely the best in my option, in my movie rotation to watch again soon for the whatever time it is for that one.

  • Glad I wasn't the only one that needed that little bit of joke explaining. Heh pretty good if you got it without the confusion, I still think it's good though.

  • Wait I thought the person you replied to was saying the person who was interviewed name should be censored. Not the poster's name.

Or am I missing something? That does happen more often than I'd like.

  • As a kid I saw it as an arrow pointing, it points to the small number. That's how I remembered it. I can now understand it 'facing' the big number but it was never pointing any direction other than the point, which is to the smaller one. Now I understand it eats the bigger one but it took awhile to see it as anything but an arrow point, if they drew them with teeth I'd have understood the eating better as a kid but I don't think any teacher did that. I never had trouble understanding overall so wasn't an issue.

  • Add some liquid schwartz and see Barf turn into a dog.

  • Borg in the middle of a battle, systems corrupted, restoring backups, systems not available for three hours. Then some small ship thinks they know how to defeat the Borg only for their civilization to be wiped out.

  • When I heard it was forced back my first thought was 'well that doesn't help for Xmas stuff anymore, so why not just make a proper deal? It seems like a lose lose for the government'. The prime time was already delayed so figure it out.

For the non Canadians I'm pretty sure they were working to make sure benefit cheques and such got through, so hopefully things like that weren't delayed cause I do recognize how awful that can be for those that need it.

  • That's how I think of the Canada Post strike that was just forced back to work. The timing was great, I didn't read if they got anything to go back work now (they can strike / deal later or something) but it sure had an impact. I had to actually go to a provincial store for my weed heh, but I've been reluctant to order much due to that and I definitely support them for their demands. Everyone should be compensated for the recent inflation and they provide an essential service in a properly run society.

  • I could feel my dread go as I heard that lines over the years, as a young teen? Of course we will we always have, we endure. As a middle aged adult? I'm not so sure we aren't going to shove ourselves back to the cave man era and not enough people will listen to anyone with survival knowledge for the species to survive.

Then I think about how many species that must have and will happen to in this vast universe, so we'll probably be an average result heh in the grand scheme of things that is.

  • Eventually you realize you forget almost as much as you learn, it's like a bilge pump in a sinking boat. Then you focus on what you want to remember and come to acceptance with that.

  • Yup he'll take every penny he can manage regardless of what happens. I'd say just like last time but I imagine he'll do much worse in his next term.

  • Yeah like you couldn't botch a worldwide pandemic worse than he did but enough Americans seemed to think he deserved another term. I only hope one of the other random viruses don't get out of control again..cause that's what stops them, hope right?

  • It's all Pym particles, that's what Marvel really runs on.

  • Hadn't heard of that before but think I've seen a random comic or two. Did a Google search and eventually had to look it up to see if it was very dry satire, evidently it's not. Huh...
