  • If I remember correctly it's because console corps can more easily do takedowns if you're distributing BIOS files, and that means needing to get them elsewhere which can be a hurdle for using them. I do wish there was an option to play a video before launching a game so I could just drop in a recording of the boot animation for nostalgia though…
