  • My mom is a retired nursing instructor, I've picked up a few things over the years. This is going to be fun when a HIPA violation occurs via MS A.I.

Honestly any industry where you see confidential information or proprietary information, could pose a massive threat to customers. Just knowing how much of a product your competitors are shipping to a location can tell you a lot of what they are planning.

  • Traffic spikes, on the Internet? One in a million chance! Now tow cloudflare outside the environment and call it a day.

  • She can apologize all she wants, but actions speak louder than words. Until she starts taking action to prove she's sorry, nothing has actually changed.

  • One white legal pad next to my desk, one pocket notebook and travel pen in my pocket. Have a thought or idea, write it down. Every Saturday I type all those notes into a running Google doc for the year and then put a check mark next to it on the paper.

I have a doc for every year. I regularly go back and read though them starting with the most current year and working back. If something is completed or used in a project I use the mark through function on that entry so it can still be read in case it could be helpful again but to signify that I've used it.

It's not a perfect system but it's helped me a ton.

  • Yep, 41 years old and the Democratic party has nothing for me. I switched from my long standing independent status to democratic just to vote for Bernie in the primaries. I then voted for Hillary, Biden, and Kamala in the general even though I hated all three, why not vote 3rd party? Trump was clearly too much of a danger to our country the day he came down that escalator.

I've recently taken to explaining my recent switch to voting for Democrats like this. Democrats are a cancer, Republicans are a fast moving flesh eating disease. I'd rather have something slow moving that has the potential to be stopped with less damage.

  • Grandparents had #8, we had #9.

  • Speed Queen, my parents bought one in 1992 and it lasted over 20 years with almost no issues. When it finally started needing regular maintenance mom replaced it and got another Speed Queen, ten years later not a single issue yet.

  • Should I let my beard grow?

Nooo you should not let your beard grow!

  • In Canton OH it's Tuscarawas Street, everyone just says Tusc.

  • "I have never killed a man, but I have read many an obituary with great pleasure" - Clarence Darrow.

  • Technically and laws don't apply to this administration, if he were to declare war the Republicans would just predate a declaration of war and say it's legal.

  • But... but...but....AI took our jerbs!

  • So I started with a DOS machine that my dad had at work, then my school got a few Apple Macs in the library so I played Oregon Trail on the green screen, them the first computer we had at home that I was able to spend hours on was windows 3.1.

  • When someone is switching from windows to Linux the first distro I recommend is Linux Mint. Mint feels similar enough to Win7 that any windows user can drop in and learn it in no time, my, tech illiterate, 76 year old mother has been trying a Mint live USB and has needed very little help.

I say start with Mint and get to know Linux, then if you want to try other distros you can, but at least you'll have a solid foundation to jump off from.

What ever you choose, welcome to Linux!

  • Great, now I have to research how banana peels are used in water purification....

  • I used to listen to a podcast from Latvia that reported on the war in Ukraine, I can't remember the name of the show, sorry. The guy seemed to be very knowledgeable about Russia and one thing he stressed was while the Russian military was corrupt and inept, the troops involved with nukes were still highly educated and hand picked and trained by people from within the corps.

  • This message brought to you by capitalism.

It's no different than an industry self regulating and then miraculously never finding anything wrong doing.

  • While I don't get migraines, I do regularly get massive headaches and grind my teeth which are in such bad shape the dentist said it would be cheaper to just get full upper and lower implants at this point. Seeing how alcohol doesn't always trigger the migraine I'd say yes it's probably more to do with your teeth, but I'm just going on what you wrote to produce my unsolicited prognosis.

As for what alcohol triggers for me, GURD (severe and chronic acid reflux) and IBS-D.

The GURD can trigger almost immediately or later, depending on how strong the drink is.

The IBS-D usually hits within 1 to 2 hours of drinking and then it's hours of pain, cramping, sitting on the toilet, and praying for death.

I haven't had a drink since March 2019 and while I'll never fully escape the symptoms of either of these, I have managed to reduce the frequency and severity of them by cutting out all alcohol.

Best of luck figuring out what's causing your migraines. Best advice I can give is stop drinking for a while and see if you still get them, if yes then it's probably not the alcohol.

  • Gluten free gunpowder, a bit more expensive but worth it once in a while when you want to treat yourself.
