  • It's meth, or methamphetamine. Marketed as desoxyn. It has more euphoric properties and thus tends to be more addictive. If obtained on the black market there is risks of purity and legitimacy. It could be cut with baby powder or other fillers, cut with or replaced with another drug, and there may be harmful chemicals leftover from the manufacturing process. Meth itself isn't more dangerous than Adderall or other amphetamines, just more addictive generally.

    The risks in my mind are the shady people you'd have to deal with and the purity/legitimacy problem.

  • It definitely helped in some ways. Not being able to seek treatment for ADHD was a huge stressor as was the years long journey to get diagnosed as an adult. I tried reducing my antidepressants once I got on meds for ADHD, but, turns out the world still sucks even treated and I do better with the depression meds. Anxiety has decreased a bit.

  • Usually within 5 minutes of getting out of bed meds are in me then I go put a small food in me so my stomach doesn't get upset and then it's caffeine time. I nurture the caffeine for the next 30 minutes or so and then my meds have usually kicked in and I can start doing stuff

  • Honestly airdrops are like one truck worth of supplies, inefficient, and not super effective. Pressure needs to be put on Israel to allow food and aid trucks back into Gaza. This isn't going to stave off starvation, it's making Canada look good. Still with the climate as it is, I can't knock anyone doing anything trying to help. Keep fighting everyone.

  • Could someone explain to me how these data centers use up water? Like is it evaporating? What happens to the water? I get the water consumption is very high but is the problem we're removing it from places that don't refill or does into the environment mean it's wastewater? Please someone help me understand.

  • You're assuming crippling dependency and yes you are making a judgement, it's your whole reason why you're not giving money. Yes I know how addiction works I'm 6 years clean from hard drug use and was an addict for about an long.

    Addiction is rarely the root cause of homelessness, it's a byproduct, and it's something people do to cope with their hard reality. If these people's society hadn't failed them they likely wouldn't be turning to hard drugs to numb the pain of their existence.

  • This is just putting your own morals and conditions on generosity and also assuming you know what's best for the homeless person. Yes, I agree we need systemic change to address homelessness but that's not what this is about. I think we should give without judgement. You're not gonna give them the whole rehabilitation treatment and society has failed them, who are you to judge if the next fix is or isn't the best thing for them to cope, minimize their suffering, make it through a hard day or cold night?

    This whole conversation wreaks of holier than thou.

    Someone is asking for help. Help if you can. It's not easy to get out their and hold a sign belittling yourself and putting your fate in the hands of strangers. Have a little humanity.
