    • I’ll have to check but I haven’t had an issue with the transcoded files filling up.
    • Subtitles work as expected for me but all of my file names are in English, are the ones you’re having problems with file names in another language perchance?
    • That last one I fixed myself by wrapping ffmpeg around a script I wrote that forces 5.1 to transcode to AC3 so it goes to my speakers properly.

  • I completely agree. This shit came down when they had their failed social circled thing where they broke search operators and required a Google account for YouTube. They’ve been on the full-blown path to enshittification ever since.

  • I don’t disagree, but what more could Google do here? They had a flaw in their system that required two completely different services at Google in order to exploit and the result is an email address, not access to the account itself. Google also is actively paying for people to help them find these issues. I think they did a stellar job here, but of course being perfect with the security if the software implementations is always the best case.

  • I’m looking at Talos on my Proxmox cluster as VMs. I’m trying to automate it all through ansible and currently stuck trying to bootstrap my secrets manager. Somewhat of an analysis paralysis at the moment. Thinking of using a cloud hosted one with some kind of a local passthrough cache in case the WAN connection gets disrupted.

  • How is it air gapped and federated? Do you unairgap it periodically for a refresh then reairgap it? I’ve not heard of airgapped federated servers before and am intrigued. Is it purely for security purposes or also bandwidth savings? Are there other reasons one may want to run an air gapped instance?
