  • I think aid from the US was the last thing on their mind. Never have I ever voted for a party because what US, EU, China or any other foreign power threatened.

These midterm elections are usually an indication of how the general population feels the current administration is doing, think of the blue wave during Trump's first midterm.

Is there any indication that wide spread voter suppression or fraud was happening, not just anecdotal but like verifiable like what happened in Venezuela last year. If not I would say whether you like it or not, that is the crux of democracy, the masses have decided

  • I think you are reading way too much into it, I was mocked for never kissing kissing someone when I was that age. Kids can be cruel, and I think this episode is just surface level deep. The target audience is young teens - children. I do not expect neon genesis evangelion depth in the writing. But maybe you could be right, but usually the hints are way more subtle, like Peter Parker's jizzed hands in the first Spiderman movie when he wakes up (big puberty analogy). But, for me, the iCarly episode would make it very disturbing if a Nickelodeon show wanted to make subliminal messaging about sex

  • Geez, I think you had a good point and now it seems you are being burned at the stake. But arguments are good if held in good faith, and I see your point, and mostly agree.

The problem is everyone wants a good house in a good area, yet there is only a limited supply. Houses are a depreciating asset, breaks down etc, the land in a desirable area is what makes it expensive and appreciated. So by logic the landlord took a chance and bought a place to rent out, that will depreciate but they focused on location, location, location in the hope it will bring in a profit (speculation).

Honestly if the area is desirable, close to working areas, good reputation with low crime... It will sell itself and becomes desirable thus increasing price.

But no one forced you to live in a nice area, I moved to a rural town, where a nice family home is cheaper than a 1 bedroom flat in the city more than 3 hours drive from me. Unfortunately yes that means less comfortable options like work or services a city can provide me. But some benefits like I love the isolation and community a small community brings.

Nothing stops anyone from moving. In my country the government has tried to give RDP housing to the poor, except it stays theirs and if you get a work somewhere else or have to move due to wide variety of reasons, sorry lost your housing benefits, you cannot sell or swap or anything, a stupid law and makes people choose between housing or a better paying work, hopefully opposition is trying to give these people ownership rights and further strengthen property rights in general.

  • As a South African I was told just because it is the law does not mean it is morally justified. Apartheid was legal and it was lawfully implemented

  • How I understand it, Basically how TVs, except OLEDs work is having a white backlight, which is what you usually see in dark area the light bleed. Local dimming zones try to mitigate this, the more zones you have the less the light bleed can be. Ok but the white backlight goes through colour filters can even be quantum dots, don't ask me how that works but basically, you started with white light and then filtered the colours until you are left with the desired colour. RGB backlights it seems wants to basically use RGB lights to modulate the colour of backlights so it can shine a blue light and then better filter that blue to give you popping blue colour rather than a desaturated blue light.

I have made numerous errors, I literally just watched one YouTube video with half my attention, and I please ask you to go read more about it but basically it sounds like a way to get a higher spectrum of colours per pixel and also ensure they are bright enough, so the colours look more saturated and pops out more.

  • Go look at LTT, Linus got the new Hisense and they explained the benefits and in the new video the drawbacks, it was the local dimming zones.

  • Same here, played around, but mint keeps pulling me back in. 10+ years going strong

  • Nestlé has found a new source which will help them sell plastic bottles

  • In South Africa, it is illegal to open carry, unless you are a police officer or security guard. So citizens are required to conceal carry. Yet in the rural areas where I am from, most of the firearm carrying people prefer to open carry, they feel it is a deterrent and easier to reach.

It's really weird how everyone in America, what I assume we are referring to, wants to conceal carry because the government does not want you to, and here in SA we want to do the opposite because of what the government wants.

PS this is my opinion from personal experience, maybe a lot more are carrying but I do not see them.

  • Fucking legend.

  • Clearly a joke to upset certain people

  • I believe this isn't 4D chess in which he makes a snide remark about South Africa again, but Cyril Ramaphosa signed a controversial bill called Bela or Basic Education Law Act where the ANC wanted to give more state control and give less control to school governing bodies, in regards to languages being taught at schools. Many Afrikaners, myself included, ( just Google Pretoria girls highschool of you want to read a rabbit hole of government overreaction) felt this was a ploy to try and exert control to try and dictate which languages should be taught wat school, such as choosing English over native mother tongue languages (like suppressing Afrikaans for example). There are merit and drawbacks to the bill, but even if Trump is obsessed with us white Afrikaners in South Africa (sarcasm), I do not think this is what he meant, and if he did, we would like him to allow us to deal with our own issues through dialogue and democratic methods

  • What law did he break, sorry I am ignorant of French laws. I understand it probably is seen as insensitive, but sounds like they are making this go viral through the Streisand effect and may lead to more people copying the smoker

  • A nice hearty soup. Can basically travel the world because it can feed you and hydrate you when you cannot find water or sustenance. And I think it is healthy enough to not kill you if you survived on it for the last 3 months, might be wrong.

But most importantly it will not take away your pleasure of better food, such as pizza, which after three months only eating pizza, you will be tired of it for the rest of you life
