  • MBFC guy has no credentials to justify his credibility. Dawn is a hugely popular website and MBFC's lack of rating is a sign that MBFC's ratings are poor, not that Dawn is a poor source.

    MBFC does ok for mainstream US sources but falls apart outside of them.

  • The OAS, an American state-funded institution? Maybe if the US would actually ratify the treaties agreed upon by the OAS, like those proposed in the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Maybe if the CIA would stop funding and orchestrating anti-fovernment rebels in Nicaragua (which are, of course, pro-democracy because everyone knows that foreign interference is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy like the US).

    The Ryukyu Islands (Okinawa, etc.) aren't too happy about being the site of 75% of US military bases in Japan (which puts them directly in the crossfire) and which make up 20% of Okinawa Island. US service people in Okinawa have been responsible for raping a 12-year-old Okinawan girl, among other crimes.

  • The fact is that this was a conscious choice, even recently. The switch to natural gas that everyone is touting is one that is designed to cause higher short-term emissions.

    Methane is really bad over a 20-year time frame and only really lets natural gas equal coal over a 100-year period (assuming typical fugitive emissions rates). The transition from coal to natural gas is accelerating the rate at which we boil ourselves alive.
