F*** Wayland

  • Even if you don't shop online, the stores are getting digital price tags. And if you want the discounts on sale items, you'll need to use the app. The app will tell the store which store you shop in on what days, the store will make some guesses about your income, combine it with the other shoppers likely to be in the store that day, and find an average price to update all the products to.

  • The real nightmare is you can't even tell anymore.

  • Oh, don't get me wrong... I completely agree. Being able to learn responsibly is ALSO a skill that undeveloped children are bad at at first. I was just pointing out that, in an absolute sense, homework has a real and important purpose, and it's NOT work culture indoctrination.

  • One of the only consolations of 2026 is that Fred Rogers didn't live to see it. I could not imagine how horribly his heart would be breaking every day.

  • It depends on the subject and what you're studying. Many subjects are like learning the piano - if the only time you practice is when you're having your lesson with your teacher, you will never develop real competence or improve beyond a surface level. That said, everyone needs different levels of reinforcement, and the one that's picked by a teacher is often arbitrary both in focus and in timing, so if an individual student has a more optimal way of doing their own reinforcement, they should be encouraged in that.

  • It should be when you decide to abbreviate your currency "PHP".

  • Remember the quote:

"If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy."

Well, "If MAGAs become convinced their leaders are pedophiles, they won't abandon their leaders, they'll abandon being anti-pedophilia."

  • No, and it's by design.

You're gonna lease a tablet and use cloud-based storage services and like it.

    The dystopia is here.

  • The problem with that is Intel is subject to the same bullshit economic assessments as AMD and Nvidia... They'll just as soon retool for ai as well.

  • That would be nice. But video cards are a VERY niche piece of engineering. The knowledge of HOW to make them is locked in a handful of people, and the ability to make them locked behind a very niche set of equipment that will ALSO be exploding in cost.

One does not simply start a graphics card company.

  • The dino centipede

  • Cool video.

Not what I was hoping for from the description though.

  • Moved to a shoes off country over a decade ago.

    That's EXACTLY what I do.

  • 1-2 months for the Supreme Court to disagree and let them do whatever they want.

    EDIT: influenzas

  • Doing it AFTER the midterms is too late.

The election will be stolen and no amount of striking will get a NEW election to happen. Furthermore Trump will continue to have unfettered control of all 3 branches of the government, the military, and a paramilitary police force answerable only to him.

A strike at that point will lead to nothing less than civil war.

  • Schumer: No! That other 1/3 is the only part that matters!

  • Yeah... if Obama isn't the greatest president of my lifetime (I was born during Reagan), then who was?

  • Hey, Newsom is out there mocking Trump's TWEETS. Let's see them beat THAT.

  • Good. It'll just hasten the collapse.

China's got an overcapacity of affordable cars people want, and the US will have an overcapacity of unaffordable cars nobody wants, and we can see which is the better problem to have.

Unfortunately, the US's cars will become write-offs for the companies, the rich will suffer nothing, and they'll become rusting landfill waste like Atari 2600 copies of ET.
