  • Look man, I own one. I ski. None of the stuff you're saying is actually happening. These things are edge cases at best.

The reality is the differences aren't important in any meaningful way. I've got to do maintenance on my engines to keep them running. I've got to keep the EV plugged in, to keep it running. Literally the same.

  • Look man, you need to do better. You want busses to run on diesel, or really any hydrocarbon? No that's idiocy at this point. So we still need to recycle stuff. We already know how, but the misleading article makes it seem like we don't, cu they tried to half ass it.

  • I lol'd because growing up in cold climate. You had to put a block heater to keep your engines warm enough to start. That ran off electricity. So..... You know, batteries keeping themselves warm isn't really different.

Right this very minute I've got two battery tenders keeping the lead acid batteries trickle charged on some motorcycles in my garage.

None of this shit is different in any meaningful way.

  • I said hey man nice shot

  • I've been a fan of making false bottom pieces and using steel wheel weights in them.

Here's a lamp I made as an example.

  • Love this song

  • I've been daily driving eos for a few years now across two phones. I also bought a Busted pixel tablet, fixed it and flashed eos on it.

Its always showed you how bad the data leaks were for which app and to which platform.

Now they do it as a notification, which is annoying. Worse for me, I've got shelter installed so I can put MS teams, intune etc into a work profile, so now there are TWO notifications running at all times.

So, with KDE connect, tesla, tailscale.... That means that the least number of notifications running are 5. I hate it.

Eos is awesome though. I can't recommend it enough. You all should be running it.

  • I second ghost. They can be expensive if you have them host it but last I looked, you could self host. Avoid substack like the fucking Fascist supporters they are.

  • Probably

  • I'm not sure why I keep seeing this? I ordered ab fp6 directly from their USA site and it arruved in a week or so. I now have a 5 from clove and a 6 from murena. Typing this on a 6.

  • That's what I'm saying I ordered this one directly from their site. Maybe they are out if stock now? Mine only took a week or so to arrive.

  • I did this to the USA for the FP5 a while back. It worked out fine. Just make sure you've got a carrier that supports it in your area and you're fine I'm sure.

  • Can confirm, typing this on a FP6 I pre-ordered.

  • K, but you can buy the Fairphone 6 in the us now.

  • This question deserves better reaponses. If you can't or don't want to self host, Tidal and Qobuz are probably the best alternatives. Tidal doesn't do podcasts though so if you need to replace that as well, take a look at Antenna pod which as a bonus is available on F-Droid.

  • Also have an x1carbon and I usually forget to plug it in for weeks at a time. It's great and it shipped with Linux, bios updates happen regularly, it's amazing.

Edit: I got my daughter a framework 13 with the amd CPU. It's running fedora 42 and she rarely plugs it in. Another great option.

  • Not enough to justify the time spent.

  • Yeah, I know you are right. Just makes me sad.

  • Yikes, going to pass on that.
