If you're here, there's still hope for the internet

Don't let it fall

  • Politically speaking millennials seem to be getting power right around now. In the US ppl like AOC and Zohran Mamdani. Probably some on the right too, but I don't know those as much.

  • Yeah that's the common feeling

  • No thank you, the a.c is freezing cold enough in offices.

  • I'm going to be honest, I have no idea how open source works. I can't imagine maintaining anything more than a tiny library that I can ignore six days of the week.

Also: open source relies on good jobs. You can only do it if you have a well paid low stress job with good hours. Those have been in short supply recently.

I think the free time covid gave, followed by the free time the layoffs gave, and AI have been patching / hiding the fact that the core model of open source is completely unsustainable in its current state.

  • It's pretty clear she's gotten past this contradiction long ago.

So the answer is fried into a crisp

  • Who said anything about blame?

  • Remember when they were saying, “We’re the ones who actually tried to pass a bill to crack down on immigration, but Trump blocked it.” The Democrats actively downplayed the threat that Trump posed by trying to claim that he was all talk.

If I remember in the news cycle this bill was a pretty minor thing. The overall message I got was still mainly Democrats = immigration friendly, path to legalization, Republicans = throw these criminals out, though ofc the news I got may not be representative.

Also yes Democrats may have claimed some things about republicans, but on the flip side Republicans also claimed constantly that democrats are softies letting every one and their mother in, so it sort of cancels out.

  • It's usually zoomer depression

  • the main reason might just be whether the institution themselves claim they are educational

  • If you don't mind, what's your home country and the country you visited?

  • It's a video game, the only actual reward is the satisfaction or pleasure playing the game will give you.

Which you might get more if you play as a good character?

  • Subs are fine for services. I personally also think they provide a better incentive structure. But they're often abused

  • Yeah there's lots of open providers like this.

  • The opposite also applies. If there's no actual power or reward or suffering, what's the point of being bad?

  • As someone under 25, this is bullshit. I'm the only person my age I know that doesn't use Instagram

  • Peace

    Jump
  • That only works when you're horny

  • What do you suggest we do, not push back?

And btw this isn't true. Look at how their attempt to get rid of third party cookies is going. The just rolled back like their fifth attempt/rebranding of it

  • Isn't everything in community based off other shows?

    Like, in a good way

  • yeah this meme has always bothered me cause who tf thinks the obvious solution to such a temporary problem is go buy two more horses?? It would probably be faster to unload the cart and carry the items by hand
