  • English is not my native language, correcting my grammar mistakes is appreciated, it helps me learn
  • Sometimes I word my messages poorly. Please forgive me if I seem rude

  • It already has been out for like a few months

  • Windows resembles the Plasma UI, not the other way around.

  • Dude, where did you get a mom like that? That's so sweet, I wish mine gifted me merch too

  • Ukraine

  • Not copy pasting random commands you are not 100% sure about is basic terminal literacy

  • You can't look at anybody younger than 30 y.o.

  • This actually reminded me that planes don't fly over my country...

  • Arch needed for Uni? Mate, how do I transfer to wherever you study at?

  • What? I'm really struggling to see why this comment is upvoted and the article is downvoted. The article doesn't contradict anything in this comment

  • What's the point of your comment? I doubt anyone here would just block countries on random from accessing their servers. The tool doesn't seem to promote such behaviour either.

  • Changing the remote should be fairly trivial with enough bash skills

  • Deduplications comes with flatpak for free. Both systems had filesystem compression, so this one doesn't count. 10% higher disk space is neglectible on most systems and the containerisation makes it worth it.

  • Newbies need a place to hang out at, so that's OK for them to post something like that in this community, IMO.

But I, too, have been growing increasingly tired of beginner posts, which ultimately led to the creation of !gnulinux@lemm.ee

Feel free to pay it a visit if you wish to filter out at least some of such content.

P.S. The timing of your post is almost the same of that I made the community. Did you post here because you saw the promo or was it just a coincidence?

  • It's trivially easy to script such an option

  • The overall post isn't that bad, though. But the edginess and shit takes on Windows were very unnecessarry

  • wdym "what do you guys think"? Security is about your threat model, how can anybody recommend you taking security measures if they don't know what and whom are you trying to secure your OS from?

Kicksecure tries to fix many problems of unhardened distros. If you happen to run potential malware that exploits the Linux kernel on a daily basis then Kicksecure is good as a daily driver. Otherwise, hell no, it breaks too many things for people with the threat model of "I don't want to be tracked by advertisers".
