  • Lain?

  • I'm pretty pleasantly surprised at how well Arch and its derivatives are doing.

  • rats live on no evil star

  • From a quick search it looks like India, Nigeria, Singapore, and the Philippines do as well.

Other countries may have pledges of some sort for special occasions or for new citizens. But having a flag in every classroom that children chant to each morning is not normal.

  • As an American I never really liked the holiday, (I agree patriotism sucks) but I wouldn't say it's that it really feels creepy other than the few people who really go over the top with it. Most people just use it as an excuse to barbeque and watch / light off fireworks (which I'm just personally not into)

Now for some real North Korea shit, look up videos of the “pledge of allegiance“ in schools. I was always the only one not doing it, but it wasn't until I was an adult that I realized how fucked up it is. Creepy as hell.

  • Same! It seems the obvious way to do it – starting with the one horizontal line.

I think this or the lefty version would produce the neatest stars.

  • Not in a relationship, but hypothetically yes, absolutely. I'd try go exert as much power as I could to make sure their rule is benevolent and try to convince them to create strong institutions that would become democratic after our deaths.

Now if my dictator gf started committing atrocities, I'd leave ASAP if I could do so safely. But I don't think I would ever be dating the sort of person who would use that sort of power for evil.

  • Can someone explain this to me? Are all of the men just setting their age range really low, or is it a matter of all the "good" people being paired up by that age?

  • I think even music leans pretty hard to the left overall, just with the exception of certain genres.

  • I thought it was political at first, too.

    There's a strong correlation there.

  • Yeah I feel like I see way more posts/comments complaining about Americans than ones by Americans being obnoxious or self centered.

  • Why do you ask?

  • I agree with your general message (The best substitute is no substitute), but "highly processed" is a really misleading term. Vegan meat substitutes are still fairly healthy compared to actual meat. The reason most 'processed food' is bad for you is because it's nutritionally poor, and has high salt, sugar, preservatives, artificial dyes, etc.

As a side note: while vegan cheese is not very good, I think oat milk is significantly better than cow's milk.

  • "Can big tech fix–" "No."

  • I don't know. I think reclaiming slurs can be a good thing, (queer, for example), but that one is inherently violent and I always feel uncomfortable when I hear it. Like, there's a reason you didn't write it out in your comment.

  • Millionaires aren't rich, they're "well off". (Or maybe not even, it's possible to have 1M+ in assets and be struggling financially)

Being rich is a completely different lifestyle. Like you never even think about money, and get people to do your grocery shopping and stuff. Megayachts and private jets, etc.

  • It is absolutely a racist song. It's a "response" to Southern Man by Neil Young (great song btw)

  • I Will Survive

    You're not welcome anymore.... >:(
