  • California didn't have already state funded public pre-k?

  • Text chat for day to day, voice for gaming, screen share for support or whatever, never use video.

  • Man, people really prioritize convenience over all else, huh? We are fucking doomed.

  • Too bad our cops are armed like a paramilitary force. You would probably see a lot mote activate protests if they weren't shooting people in the face and tear gassing entire city blocks. I absolutely get the need to be courageous and stand up against fascism, but we need to be practical about the pressures being used to keep people from standing up. The wealthy have spent decades putting larger and larger roadblocks between the American people and their government, to the point that the very real and massive protests so far have been almost entirely ineffectual. Calling for a general strike or pointing at another country and expecting it to just happen in the US is ignoring the reality and nuance of the situation and only services to make people feel even more powerless.

  • A rifle is for long range, a pistol for close, and a knife/baton for arms reach. Why you may need all three depends on your situation. If you have a yard, a handgun is going to be difficult to safely use at anywhere beyond 25 meters for most people, so that's where the rifle comes in. If they are at your door or in your house, that's what the pistol/shotgun are for, with a knfie or baton as a backup. You do not want to be shooting a rifle inside your house. The noise will be horrendous, and the bullets will over penetrate through targets and the walls behind them. As far as a proper rifle goes, your best bet is an AR15 for a few reasons. They are cheap, readily available, have a plethora of customization options, and most importantly are generally extremely reliable. Another option worth considering is a pistol caliber carbine. This is a rifle length setup chambered in pistol rounds, which reduces recoil and ammunition cost, and if you can use the same ammunition as your pistol. If done properly, you can even interchange the magazines between pistol and rifle. A baton is fantastic to keep on hand because you are less likely to get a major injury if you mishandle it. Any questions let me know!

  • And USB-C. I don't miss Micro at all!

  • Find where it pools and drill a hole. Make sure there is nothing on the other side of where you're drilling of course.

  • Depends on the pizza cutter I guess. The rolling ones, for sure, but the long heavy blade ones that you rock to cut the pizza? That could do some damage.

  • Well how well did it go here in the US when we blamed it all on Russia? The enemy within.

  • It's all good. it's not like I'm -trying- to sound edgy or anything.

  • Okay? I don't know what to tell you. I don't have a response when they tap my knee. I did when I was a kid, but I didn't like that it was out of my control. Like I said, I -think- that's what is happening, but I don't know. Thanks for being an ass though.

  • I'm just so much an obstinate that I subconciously block the response I think. Started doing it as a kid to fuck with doctors and that's just how it is. If I practiced I could probably get over the mental block, but doesn't seem like I'm missing anything.

  • I know the anecdotes get thrown around all the time, but I needed to backup about 40gbs off my wifes phone, so I connected it to her laptop USB 3.0, started the transfer after constantly waiting on things like the start menu and file browser to load, and it sits for awhile before eventually informing me it would take 3.5 hrs. I check up on it 30 minutes later and it had gone to standby because it's not like it was doing anything, right? After eaiting for Settings to load and turning off power saver, I leave it be. Come back an hour later and it says that the storage was full, which is news to me because there is over a terrabyte of storage available. That's when I realized that by putting the folder on the desktop while I transferred it with the intentions of organizing it later, I wasn't putting it on the device at all, but uploading it to Onedrive, which filled up and stopped the transfer. This stuff was already backed up on to her Onedrive, I just wanted a local backup. So, I connected her phone to my linux machine and had it done in 20 minutes. What a complete waste of time.

  • Same...

  • Which is why I was very surprised to see the Bond movies coming the Netflix. What's that all about?

  • And you know, once you bring your population to the point of violent, open rebellion, things will settle right down with a little martial law!

  • I wouldn't put it pass the media to bury instances of soldiers bucking the fascists.
