    I have been using piped and invidious in the past as well, but with youtube cracking down more and more I have trouble finding usable instances at all. Hence my switch to freetube, which mostly works so far.

  • I'm not that invested in the switch 2 discourse, but always chuckle when someone says "now I can play Zelda at 30 fps or more".

    Paying for a new console, because the last one was incapable of playing games at an acceptable framerate is a weird argument for your purchase.

    Some Nintendo games are undoubtedly masterpieces, but that doesn't excuse some of their business decisions.

  • Check out refurbished Thinkpads T480 (14in) in your area. I basically got one that basically ticks all your boxes. Additionally mine has 32GB RAM, 500GB NVME SSD and a free slot for another small formfactor NVME card. It has one internal and one removable battery, so you could get an additional one to switch on the fly.

    The T480 was the last Thinkpad model with "real" upgradability and was a popular business choice. Companies unload them in bulk. When I was looking for them the availability was good.

  • Kaufe kaum noch bei Lidl ein, weil die Hälfte der Angebote nur mit App gelten oder die App noch mehr Rabatt gibt. Schade, habe dort immer lieber als im Aldi eingekauft.

    Edit: Ironie, was ich auf heise alles zustimmen muss, um dort zu lesen.

  • I can add an aspect when it comes to Lenovo laptops. PopOS automatically searches and offers updates for different firmware for my Thinkpad. Really neat feature I haven't seen in other distros to keep your device up to date.

  • Bei uns wird der Azubi-Plan regelmäßig über den Haufen geworfen, wenn eine Abteilung wegen Unterbewertung und krankheit total zusammenbricht.

    In die Buchhaltung müssen sie, weil ja jemand die Post machen muss, aber nur bis Mittag, weil es dann doch nicht so viel zu Lehren gibt. Dann lieber für zwei Stunden in eine andere Abteilung, in denen man nicht wirklich viel vermitteln kann.

    Kann mir gut vorstellen, dass es in anderen Betrieben ähnlich ist.
