  • I play music on vinyl LP and read at night. I had too much ADHD that I couldn't concentrate without audio stimulant (can't sleep without white noise or ASMR podcast) but if I'm listening to on demand digital music like youtube or spotify, I ended up keep changing the music and get distracted by screens. Vinyl doesn't let you skip songs/music, and listen to the album in order the way the artist intended. Then I would aim to finish a chapter or so of book material, within one LP (15 minutes~ish)

  • Yes I acknowledge my PB is nowhere near being considered "fit" or even "intermediate" runner. But I think running 7 min mile is too high of a bar for this race, this is not NYC or London Marathon with 50k participants and actual trial race requirement to join. Here's my Steiner math, 27:30 is smack bang average 50th percentile finish time in most normal 5k races (all ages) in the US. Last year they had 4,000 runners registered, this year might be more, might be less. So I just need to finish in slightly above average, and I'm hoping there's a lot of uncs, grannies, and literal clowns in Halloween costumes who participated and ran/walk for the good cause, I'm crossing fingers that the 50th percentile finish time for this race is longer than a regular 5k race. I'm also counting on Zionists, bankers, yuppies, and bourgeoisie podcasters to not bother coming. If I can run a 27-28 min race, I'm giving myself 50% chance to get the medal, maybe this is pure cope Steiner math. Anyway, still gonna do it regardless, there's always next year race to improve myself.
