  • Never forget that ever state that seceded listed slavery, specifically superiority over black people as the reason for secession, codified slavery into law, and the CSA had a federal law stating that no state within the Confederacy could ever be allowed to become a free state.

  • Not defending the asshole, but someone jumping into a deep body of water to save someone else usually results in two people dead. A drowning person will pull someone else down through sheer panic. That's why most lifeguards will go in with a flotation device to keep them afloat.

    Ideally, there should have been a life preserver nearby, barring that, a rope.

  • I apologize if you thought I was implying that. I am in no way agreeing that there is a "Deep State" or anything to that effect. I was trying to draw criticism to DeSantis' use of the word Globalists, which does have antisemitic overtones, while the House just passed a bill that could lead to criticism of Israel in any way would count as antisemitism.

    Sarcasm on the internet is hard to convey.

  • I had a Volt (loved it for what it was) and I gave up charging it anywhere but at home. I had the same experience as you, had to have a dozen apps, use the stupid tap to pay, only to find out the network was down and you couldn't use it. For a plug in hybrid, it was an inconvenience, for a pure EV that may be arriving with less than 10% battery, it would be a disaster.

    100%. This should have been addressed years ago, honestly. No one would tolerate VW only being able to gas up at Shell stations due to different nozzles. This is no different.
