During my project management days one of the things I learned the hard way is to nail down exactly what something has to deliver and getting everybody involved to sign onto it in black and white - if you don't, disaster follows.
Agile seems literally designed to make this impossible.

By the time of the Great Irish Famine (one of the British Empire's earliest achievements) the transformation of England from a feudal society to a liberal one was complete.
The US was literally founded as the model for the liberal nation state - it's entire history of genocide, slavery and yes, colonialism was drenched in the tenets of liberalism from the moment the constitution was signed right to this very day.

I'd say it's more about continuously milking customers on projects that never seem to end. I've never done software project management, but I have seen it's "tenets" applied to other types of projects. The results were arduous - to say the least.

There is no such thing as a "socialist" regime... not in the way we generally use the term regime, anyway. And the regimes that (falsely) attributed to themselves the characteristics of socialism never claimed to make a virtue out of human greed like our neoliberal ones do.

Looks to me like it's working as designed... and not "destroyed" at all.
People keep pointing the finger at AI, but miss the fact that the problem is corporate greedcapitalism. AI has the possibility to help us solve problems, corporate greedcapitalism will gate keep the solutions and cause us suffering.
Still sounds like a pretty good idea now, too.
