The actual role that liberalism plays in deradicalising and co-opting the left is a far greater danger to the left than the violence of fascists. In fact, without liberal co-optation it's highly probable that fascist violence will even succeed against the left.

If we were smart, we'd realise that the fascists have done a lot of our legwork for us with their sustained attacks on "libruuuls!", allowing us the opportunity to properly problematise liberalism in a way that the left has utterly failed to do all throughout the second half of the 20th century right up til now.
