  • I thought it's used instead of chlorine to decontaminate water

  • That's The Onion headline right there

  • Why in poor countries? Why not in more developed markets? Is lack of regulations the main reason?

  • Briefly researched the idea after looking for an e-reader, a screen would be the most expensive part, a cheap microcontroller and battery would be the second ones, overall it would be more expensive than basic kindle with a lot worse capabilities, like worse screen etc

  • are there any AX routers supported by DD-WRT? all routers your article suggests are AC routers, quick research show no AX routers on support lists

  • Of course it does, anyway it's normal Linux, so it does everything desktop Linux does, you gonna be of course limited by your device hardware capabilities like RAM or storage, so maybe you won't be able to deploy a kubernetes stack on your home router but it'll be doable on a more capable device running OpenWRT like an RPi, PC or NAS;-)

  • I bought an Asus RT-AX53U, it was the cheapest WiFi 6 router with openwrt support

  • Respectfully of course.

    Like "Fuck you Nvidia"?

  • When I buy books I buy physical, but sometimes digital is more practical, even with small format books I struggle to read them in public transit during my work commute, with a reader like Kindle or even with a smartphone I don't have to work about my book being damaged in a bag it someone, even without a cover a reader will say least scratch a bit, on the other hand dropping a reader is another story, the screen can easily break, book won't. Also the obvious thing is you can get ebooks instantly, physical ones have to be shipped or at least brought from the store like everything physical. Another thing is WAREZ, you can get ebooks illegally, I don't condone it but it makes the access easier, sometimes it's the only way to get a given book because it's sold out or something. But I'm one of those people who don't have a problem with ebooks, on an ebook reader I see them equal with paper ones

  • Gnome-shell was probably compiled (and linked) with a different version of libgck than is available on your system, are those installed from the same source? I'd try updating those packages

  • That's the thing, you use white tomatoes /s

  • You mean as an OS? Windows, but I feel fluent in Linux, used it for a few years, subbed here as a sentiment😄 I work in IT, mainly Windows administration but some Linux too

  • Past Linux user here, not only do I use openwrt, but I base my routers choice on openwrt support, it's weird to me there are long term Linux users who don't know what openwrt is
