  • OP specifically wrote:

    I don't feel comfortable using a mouse

This is in general and not specific to any game... There exists a myriad of people who are comfortable with using mouse and keyboard while still preferring controllers for some specific games. You should try to better your reading comprehension.

  • No. It might simply be that people prefer using a controller for specific games, which is a very reasonable explanation if you're familiar with video games. The statistics says nothing about this because it's too general.

  • Please explain how people sometimes using controllers on PC means that there exists a considerable amount of PC gamers who are uncomfortable with using a mouse.

  • Huge difference between not feeling comfortable at all with using a mouse and preferring to use a controller depending on context

  • Which crayon color has the best flavor?

  • People will unironicallt say "You don't have to pay money if you don't want to. What's the problem?"

  • The video of two people playing the steam deck with two steam controllers in a fast food joint. Completely natural scenario! Just casually bringing your steam deck and two steam controllers to a fast food joint. Feels like they want to copy the nintendo switch advertisements, but it's not comparable at all since the switch is smaller and has the joycons which you can use as make-do controllers for e.g. public places.

  • There can be more than one problem.

That's not what you've been saying until now.

A coup still inherently relies on there being internal forces willing to execute said coup.

No shit, what are you trying to say? Are you saying there exists political systems which are immune to people wanting to stage a coup?

I don’t dare say being capitalist could have stopped this particular one, quite likely it couldn’t. But it it is at least more resilient in general.

How would it be more resilient?

If it was impossible to resist superpower sponsored coups, I am sure the Baltics wouldn’t be able to remain democratic right next to Russia.

What coup attempts are you talking about? Let's try to focus on coups that were at least attempted or has any substantial evidence of being in the works.

  • The problem isn't political systems, it's superpowers intervening, e.g. america funding fascist coups of democratically elected socialists. It would be hard for any small nation, regardless of political system, to defend against a coup funded by a superpower. Please prove me wrong and tell me how e.g. the coup in Chile 1973 could have been prevented by decentralizing power.

  • In many of these cases, the political system which couldn't withstand coups were democracies. Does this mean that democracy isn't useful? Are you saying that democracies should forbid socialists from being elected since if they get elected then america will intervene and the democracy will cease to be useful? Sounds like you don't care for democracy and self-determination of nations. Bonus points will be awarded for being able to make your point without a potion metaphor.

  • Russia says they're invading Ukraine to de-nazify them. With your logic, this reason is valid because they said so and being sceptical would be beliving in conspiary theories. Go on and continue to be an useful idiot for politicians.

  • Worst headline ever, probably intentionally

  • There exists e.g. religious people who think porn is a sin. Saying you'd want to ban porn because it's a sin would alienate potential voters. Therefore, they can simply take the "think of the children!" position which is a classic approach and that sounds much more appealing while still restricting access for everyone (who wants their identity associated with their porn history? Data leaks happen all the time).

Similarly, (depending on political climate) far right politicians can't openly spout hate about foreigners since it would alienate some voters. Yet, time after time they're revealed to have been doing it e.g. when they thought they were anonymous.

Of course you can't know someone's true intention, but assuming that people won't lie and anything said by them is undoubtedly true unless somehow proven false is a bit naive.

  • Oh, if they say so then it must be the true. Politicians would never hide their true intentions to make their policies more appealing.

  • Understood almost immediately by taking the context into consideration.

  • If false positives are frequent enough, police might not take the predictions of the system seriously.

  • Who the fuck let him become sheriff?! America is a seriously messed up place.

  • No. The police are well known for using violence against non-violent black people. Imagine what they could do if they believed a black person was armed. I would say that this kid got really lucky.

Besides the racism problem, many false positives will lead to people not taking the system seriously (see: the boy who cried wolf) and even if they take every positive seriously, it would be a huge waste of resources to frequently send a bunch of cops to do nothing (in best case scenario, in worst case it'll result in the death of an innocent person).

  • Made me think of the beginning of the movie Brazil.
