  • I don't think my family had Netflix when we had my Wii so that tracks that I don't remember it. Couldn't the Wii only output 480p? I bet that was a bad viewing experience

  • I'm trying to remember my old school DS and Wii days. I remember both having a web browser and both being particularly bad at playing most videos. What Nintendo consoles have had a dedicated YouTube app? Have any had a streaming app?

I know Xbox and Playstation both tried to turn your console into a home entertainment system, I always assumed Nintendo was consciously not doing that to their consoles

  • That is indeed what Randal concludes in the video

  • Hey man, I live here. We're not a republican state. We have more registered Democrats than Republicans, and between the two major metropolitan centers (Charlotte and The Triangle) we actually should be voting largely Democrat. However Republicans bunched all those voters into a few districts and then gave rural bumfuck nowhere disproportionate representation on a state level. Then they used that to gerrymander themselves into a supermajority, then used that to start rat fucking the good reps out of districts (pour one out for Jeff Jackson). We literally had maps so fucked up our current supreme court said "that's too far" and all they did was submit shittier and shittier maps until we got stuck with the first unconstitutional one because "we didn't have another option"

We're not quite a Mississippi where we've been shooting our own feet for decades, Republicans have wrested undue control over the state by being cheaters and it's important for all of you to see that because they'll do it to you too

  • Arguably you don't, considering your matter will likely undergo a fusion reaction with what could nominally be called the ball, you and the ball will make a form of contact

  • I know this is difficult for older dementia patients to process, but people, places, and opinions change over time. Things are not the same as when you were young

  • I have a Kobo H2O and have been using it since 2020. I read with very small print and have never had legiblility issues except on PDFs which most eReaders aren't built for anyway. I can comfortably read 750 pages on a charge and honestly that number would be significantly higher if I was better about turning it fully off between reads instead of putting it into standby. No idea what OS it uses but it lets me put almost anything on it and it'll try it's best to display it

  • Multiverse really does feal like early access FTL 2

  • Sure, but again, why? People who care about the physical feel of books just get them from the library. People who want something convenient have e-readers. It feels like a worst of both worlds more than a best

  • Well yes, that's what the RAW (rules as written) part was addressing. Common sense will generally stop that

  • "Land Strikes on foreign soil" sure is passive way of saying "illegal and unilateral acts of war"

  • My favorite part about 5e centaurs is that the monsters are large sized which makes all their mounting rules function the way you'd expect. However they generally try to avoid having PCs get to a point where they're large by default. So PC centaurs are medium creatures with an increased carrying capacity meaning they can ride horses by default and function for all the rules of intelligent mounts. As long as you fit in the weight limits you can just keep stacking centaurs on top of each other in the same 5ft square, RAW

  • You jest but the main character of Snow Crash is literally called Hiro Protagonist

  • As someone who works in tech I occasionally point out to people that if Jeff Bezos decided to go full supervillain he could hold the internet hostage. If you disabled AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud individually the cascading failures on the various systems would take weeks to fix, which we might not have with a supply chain collapse. Genuinely, I think there's a real chance it could trigger the collapse of human civilization

  • I was really confused why this was news because I remembered trying mad max mode. It's fucking batshit how aggressively it merges on that mode. I turned it off immediately. Although the speeding thing isn't new, all the autopilot modes will let you set the speed to 15 over or more by default

  • Harry: the butterbeer is N/A (not recommended)

  • He misheard and thought Satan was calling him home

  • That's an irresponsible place to be standing. There could be a mine there Better yet the revealed squares are pretty risky too
