  • I have mixed thoughts. Overall I anticipate it being a net negative. Mergers like this result in fewer jobs, lower quality products and less competition. However I love movies (check my profile if you want proof) and specifically I love going to the movie theater. Paramount has continued supporting movie theaters which is more than you can say about Netflix and Sarandos. Likewise Zaslav was just making anti-consuner decisions left and right. I can count on more than one hand the amount of times I've called that man a piece of shit. Not to mention Netflix's slavish attachment to "the algorithm" just churns out a lot of slop

So while the merger is bad it's probably the better of the two options and anything that reduces David Zaslav's power is a net positive in my book, even if he makes a small country's worth of money doing it

  • Yeah, a particularly juicy orange would probably over fill that

  • Sorry, we thought we were selling snake oil to give you boners but it turns out we accidentally put real boner medicine in it. That's our bad, now please return it and definitely don't give yourself raging hardons

  • Prairie Dogs are more likely in America:

The bacteria that cause plague, Y. pestis, maintain their existence in a cycle involving rodents and their fleas. Plague occurs in rural and semi-rural areas of the western United States, primarily in semi-arid upland forests and grasslands where many types of rodent species can be involved. Many types of animals, such as rock squirrels, wood rats, ground squirrels, prairie dogs, chipmunks, mice, voles, and rabbits can be affected by plague.

    Per the CDC (emphasis mine)

  • Man I want to wear the big suit for Halloween but nobody would get it

  • This is some A+ advice. I highly recommend listening to this

I'll add Brain Lagerstrom as another youtuber to watch specifically because his recipes point out which shortcuts are and aren't worth taking

Additionally my advice I give people is taste all your food all the time. You should try every seasoning you own individually to know what it tastes like, same with sauces. Taste your food while it's cooking, go slow and adjust things. Always give a little taste before serving to know if it needs any final touches

Also you can save plating for later. If it tastes good people will overlook your presentation

  • I'm sure they'll tell you this when you get there but Icelandic speed limits are a rule, not a guideline. I picked up a speeding ticket in Akureyri just going a few kmh over from a speed camera because of that

  • If you want some more recommendations I'd be happy to share. I really enjoyed my tour around the country in 2023

  • Gullfoss Falls in Iceland:

Just stunningly beautiful and close to Reykjavík. It'd be a massive mistake to visit Iceland and not see this

  • Once again I implore you to build your own media streaming tools. It's very easy: https://yams.media/

  • I don't disagree with you but I don't control American English. I imagine both head cheese and sweetbreads would also upset you

  • Colloquially tuna fish refers to the shredded salt brined tins of fish like this:

Which I do think is worth distinguishing from the actual whole pieces of tuna

  • One of the craziest parts in retrospect to me is Adam Baldwin (Jayne from Firefly (no, not one of those Baldwins)) is the guy who coined the actual term "Gamergate"

  • Probably soda. I think most people enjoy Coke/Pepsi and the other mainstream choices are usually considered superior to the small batch artisan stuff

  • I actually did the math and it works out to 17% abv or about 34 proof. Certainly on the high end of what you should put in a solo cup but we also usually had ice and as previously noted, the objective was to get fucked up

  • If I remember correctly the recipe was 1 handle of Everclear, 1 case of Natty light and 1 or 2 of the pink lemonade blocks. Easy and guaranteed to get you blackout drunk

  • Yeah... water... we definitely weren't using light beer to water down our hard liquor with this stuff
