I am dual booting as I get VR to a better level, but I want that cancer off my system completely one day. Right now I have no monitors for vr performance in linux (any suggestions? FPSVR is my monitor for windows in VR) but it "feels" like often I am getting less than 20 fps (eye fatigue and strain that does not occur in the same games on windows) tho it looks like it is at least 35-60fps in the recorded playback, it just feels off.
I am hoping for some feed back on this from people that have used it. I could use bottles but doesn't that also require a windows "install" or container type thing like this? I am just exploring different avenues to get things working and this looks promising, tho a VM may make a bit of a dent in my old ryzen 7-3800 and I am fairly confidant if I had an amd card instead of the RTX 4070ti super my experience would be better but that is a cost I cannot swallow yet and I need a new cpu more. In the end I will prolly try to get wine and bottles working but a simple to get running app like this could be the short term answer
Switched the gf to linux a week ago. Everything is now smooth sailing, few bumps in the first 2 days like installing the snap minecraft instead of the .deb (I thought snap/flatpak included all files needed, guess not as no java was installed for her JAVA Minecraft) ESO and Minecraft work as well as on windows, and she can even edit simple config files (her G13 kb). Yes her system supports win11 but not even sure we will upgrade her windows install
I got so mad at someone doing that to me, almost hit me on a turn. I turned on him and yelled/cursed thru his window, approached his window and pointed at him yelling to "Pay the FUCK attention, asshole". I so threw him off he parked for 2 mins on a side road before driving off more cautiously. One day it may turn to something more physical, hasn't yet
I watch people STEP OVER a sign that states "Elevator is in service" at least 3 every time. I watch people throw GARBAGE in a battery recycling bin, every day. When I ask if it was a battery they threw in there they say no, I just saw recycling on the bin. There is a picture, 50cmx50cm, with 8 different batteries on it. Either that or literacy has dropped to near 0
I'll see 3-5 digital ads, on my phone at lunch in 20 mins, everything else is 100% ad free. I grew up with 80s tv commercials, nothing affects me now, lol, I also haven't had cable in, woah, 25 years
Also not from the states
I have wonderful tunnel vision. I opened a new tab and actually looked at the page and they do in fact exist, I have 3 sponsored links, I just never actually look at the page until i hit enter cause there is nothing of interest til then hehe
how many people see that page tho? when i open a new tab i don't even see the page, I open new pages quite often, all i see is the address bar until i type and hit enter. never even saw the "sponsored content"
Thats beautiful. mines been watching me for about 5 months game and everything else. Today she is setting up ESO and the addons and may poke around to personalize her system. Bonus, as I removed her windows drive, she found some files she didn't know she had but really wanted. Tonight we get the last bits setup. I forgot that the nvme in her system, my old pc from 5 years ago, only had a 120gb capacity I replaced it with a 1TB nvme
unless they need kernel level anticheat, the rest should work. just demonstrate how well your system runs these apps and that should help. just be ready to be their on-call tech hehe
Yeah, once the hardware issue is covered we are golden. She has about 90% of what she needs now, tonight we fix the rest, like programming the buttons on her g13. ESO and Mc installed no problem, Minion was a bit til I got flatpak going, should be fun tonight finishing it all off
